Romania should firmly combat any attempt to restrict the labour's freedom of movement in Europe and the proposal made by the Dutch labour minister is an unacceptable measure, to result in limiting the workers' movement across the European Union space, Social Democrat (PSD, at rule) Senator Mircea Geoana said.

'The proposal - to set up an Alert Code of the movement of labour - is the more disappointing since it comes from a leader of the Netherlands' Labour Party. Camouflaging such a proposal under the form of criticism to the exploitation of the cheap workforce, that would allegedly cause big wage differences cannot conceal the fact that the measure of setting up an Alert Code has the role of hitting the free movement of workers', Geoana said in a release to AGERPRES.

He argued that an honest concern for the issue of the exploitation of the workers from the less wealthy European Union members should prompt legal measures likely to improve the treatment applied the legal migrant workers, rather than Alert Codes bringing about hysteria in a European people already sufficiently ?on alert' by the rightist extremists' provocations.

Geoana, in his capacity of a senator of Romania, calls on the European Commission to disavow any such kind of initiatives that hit one of the pillars of the European community.

To this effect, he announced he would send a letter to the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion Laszlo Andor and Commissioner for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship Viviane Reding urging them to take a public stand on this matter.

'If the more developed European states accept the advantages of a European Union member's status and can, for example, freely export goods to Romania with no customs taxes, it is but fair and in line with the rules of the EU game to also accept and protect the free movement of the workforce and protect the rights of the legally-working European citizens by all the means offered by the national and European regulations', Geoana underscored.

Ce a vrut sa spuna Patapievici?

Preiau un titlu de pagina de facebook dar nu ca sa ma refer la frazele si silogismele domnului Patapievici. 

Ma refer la interviul din cotidianul catalan La Vanguardia aparut in decembrie 2009 inainte de confruntarea finala dintre candidatii Basescu si Geoana.

Cu titlul "Patapievici: Basescu a avut o caseta cu Geoana 'primind sex oral'", interviul a fost preluat de Mediafax.

Este cel mai de neinteles interviu cu Horia Roman Patapievici pe care l-am citit vreodata.

Ce arata insa interviul, chiar daca a fost dezavuat de autor, este dizgratioasa tentativa a domnului Patapievici de a se face util in campania electorala. Nu a fost prima de acest gen; in 2007 a militat impotriva suspendarii presedintelui Basescu.

Domnul Patapievici a fost incepand cu 1999 un bugetar de lux, mai intai ca membru al colegiului CNSAS apoi ca presedinte la ICR. In toata aceasta perioada a fost si colaborator al televiziunii publice.

Mobilizarea unor "oameni de cultura" care vad in schimbarea statului ICR o amenintare la adresa lui Horia Roman Patapievici ar trebui sa ia in calcul si acest profil al lui, de activist politic si de bugetar de lux.

Ar mai trebui, cred, si sa fie pastrate proportiile cu cazul Marius Oprea, care a fost indepartat brutal de catre administratia Basescu de la Institutul de Investigare a Crimelor Comunismului. Nu inteleg aceasta mimare fortata a surprizei atunci cand vine un decont politic - cand aceasta este practica deja patentata, dupa 90, dar si inainte, inclusiv inainte de razboi.
