Geographic Range
Morin et al. (2020).
The Canada lynx resides in the boreal forests extending across Canada and Northern United States. They share their habitat with their sympatric species, the bobcat (Lynx rufus). Due to slight physical differences with the bobcat having a high foot loading while the lynx has a low foot loading, the bobcat is limited at the northern range where snow is deeper (12). However, with increasing temperatures as a consequence of climate change, the bobcat are beginning to expand their range upwards from their usual southern region. The outcome of this can be increased sympatry or competitiveness with the lynx.
