summary: the summer break has distanced you enough for you to belive george is over you. turns out, the lover boy thinks otherwise, so now he has to get you back. and he has help with his plans - or backup plans.
fluff
First day of school is already hard enough. New faces, new classes. But not having George by your side is an added torture. He was the one you could count on when you felt alone.
But, now, as thousands of teenagers pass you by, excited to see the dining hall again, your chest hurts because he isn't here with you.
He hasn't been during the whole summer.
Your hand instinctively flies to your heart as you watch the students walk. You try not to, but you expect to find him among them. One by one they pass, but you don't see his face.
Until you do.
Well, not exactly.
Fred waves his hand enthusiastically when he spots you. You blink in surprise, but still wave back. He has grown even taller.
You flinch at the thought of stomaching an even taller George. Hard it is how handsome he is, but God don't make'im taller.
Fred pulls you in for a hug, then smiles a dazzling smile. "Hi there, lady lady. Where'd you put Georgie?"
You blink.
"Oh, sorry." He covers his mouth. "How's your summer been?" He corrects, as if your surprise is because of his bad social manners.
"No? That's not the right question?" he asks with a frown.
You finally bring yourself to speak. "No, it's not. Because I'm the one asking questions. Where is your brother?"
His frown deepens. "I thought you'd seen him by now. He went looking for you this night. Hell, he didn't let me sleep cause he was getting bloody ready for you. Took him, what, five hours to deem himself presentable."
You say nothing and he eyes you with suspicion. "Wait, you are mad," he states, talking to himself.
"Yes, I am," you nonetheless confirm with a sneer.
"Uuuh. Bad business. Did my brother do something bad? Do you want me to punch him?"
You can't help but chuckle. "No, and yes." Then you breathe in and face him. "Where have you been the whole summer?" And by you, you mean both of them.
"Oh, family trip. It was torture. Dad wanted us to reconnect with nature. So he rented the most remote house in the northern lands. Thought George would've told you."
"He said something about a trip. But he also said he'd write."
Fred's eyes soften. "Oh. I see why you are mad now."
You hum sarcastically.
"But... agh. Oh. George george. Now I understand why he was the whole summer having the hump," he laughs. You glare at him, and he puts his hands up. "Mom grounded us. No correspondence for two months."
Your eyebrows rise.
"What?"
He nods. "Yes. But I thought he said he had found a way of getting to you. "
"No, he did not."
Then a voice behind you: "I tried."
You turn in an instant.
George.
The sight of him is like a punch in the stomach. You fight for air.
He sends his brother away with a hand and a weird signal. Then, he meets your eyes and bites his lip. "I really tried."
You avoid his puppy eyes and remind yourself you are mad.
"Not enough," you bark. "You could've... I don't know! Sent an owl?"
He blinks, looking down at his feet. "We didn't bring one."
"I thought you..." You can feel tears welling in your eyes as you speak. "I thought you didn't want me anymore."
You feel his hand immediately holding your wrist. "How could you think that?" He seems almost offended.
"I had no news of you the whole summer! And I had no idea where you were!" Your voice breaks.
He starts rubbing reassuring circles on your hand. Then holds your other hand when it begins trembling.
"Sweetheart, I am so sorry. You don't know how. It was a torture of a summer... thinking you knew nothing of me. Knowing nothing of you. That's why I went looking for you first thing this night, when we arrived."
He takes a ragged breath. "But... I took the car to get faster. And it broke down. So I didn't get there on time."
You immediately feel a sense of dread. If anything had happened to him... Then you feel like scolding him about flying the car. Again.
"I know," he chuckles. "I'm a proper idiot."
"And you are late," you smile, despite yourself.
His lips twitch to the side. "But... am I too late?"
You look around, trying to suppress the beam on your face. Both for the relief of knowing he still wants you, and for the handsome boy in front of you, smiling his most beautiful smile.
"That's a no, isn't it?" He laughs.
You glare at him, and he holds his hands up.
"You look beautiful pretending that you are mad at me."
At that, you break. "Shut up," you whisper before you get on your tiptoes and look up to kiss him.
You can feel his smile on his lips as his arms snake around your waist. He holds you tight, and your stomach feels fluttery.
"Ummm, ehem. Now?" a voice behind you says.
You both turn quickly and find Fred, a coy smile on his face and... a bouquet in his hand.
George behind you coughs dryly. "Yes," he mutters under his breath. "Now."
By his tone, now it isn't really the time. But Fred only smiles wider and hands him the bouquet. Then winks an eye at you.
You turn to George. "What?" you ask, laughing. "Is this?"
George sighs, gazing back at his brother with a glare. Then he hands you the bouquet as he says, "This is for you. An apology."
"From Fred?" You contain your chuckle.
George shakes his head quickly. "No. From your lover boy, who is so sorry about what happened this summer."
"And how did my lover boy," you blush at the words. "Got these flowers from? As he spoke with me here?"
"It's called backup plan three," Fred says from behind you.
The look George gives him is murderous.
"Backup plan three?" you ask both.
George pinches his nose. Fred is the one who explains. "George has backup plans with you. Flowers is number three. We even have a signal for it."
At that, you have to laugh. "Wow."
George is very flushed now. And Fred is having the time of his life.
"What are backup plans one and two?" you ask George, stepping closer to him and taking the bouquet from his hand.
He looks up. "Chocolates and sweets."
"Wow," you say again. And you feel like kissing him again. "Should I worry that you plan on making me mad often enough that you have to anticipate apologies?"
He gives you half a smile. "No, you don't. You have to worry that I don't kill Fred."
"Oh. Really? Come here, then, big man," Fred says, walking towards his brother, hands in fists.
You try to contain laughter when George stands for a fight. They are idiots; that's certain. But you have a bouquet of flowers on you hands, so it doesn't really matter.
Until George throws a light punch that lands in Fred's chest. "Hey, stop that!" you command.
But then Fred pushes him.
"Hey! Stop now."
George then holds his brother's head and rubs his hair. Fred calls for a stop. And when they get tired, they are all a-laughing.
They always do the same.
"You idiots," you say when they're done.
George fixes his red hair. "Me too, love?"
You smile. "Especially you, George."
He pouts and starts walking towards you.
"Oh, here they go again," Fred says just before your lover boy leans in to kiss you.
You have to hold on tight to the flowers when he pulls you closer.
george wesley masterlisst
a/n: i am in love with this fic and how sweet it turned out. hope you liked it. i'll be getting back with the request now. feel free to send'em for George or Fred 🫶
I think he realized it on a normal evening, you were sitting in Gryffindor common room with twins; you on the couch, Fred on the armchair of course, and George sitting on a carpet in front of you. They were talking about their new invention; Fred mostly talked about the outcome of said thing and how testing was going, meanwhile, George was talking about how he came up with the idea. It wasn't much known in the Hogwart, but George was better at potions; better at making them and changing proportions to make something new.
you, of course, knew that, but you couldn't help but see that sometimes George was a little bit shy about his knowledge, as if it would make him a not good enough Weasley twin or something. Honestly, you couldn't know.
but, u didn't want him to feel any less because of this, so, you were listening intently to the origin story of making up this new thing, and when he ended you complimented him:
“Honestly, it’s all in the potion proportions!” George declared, his eyes lighting up as he spoke. You leaned closer, captivated, sensing the flicker of uncertainty in his voice. He always seemed to second-guess his brilliance, as if it might be too much for the room. “That’s so cool, George! You really know your stuff,” you said, breaking in as Fred rambled on about the grand plans for their next prank. “What if you added more of the—what was it—Gillyweed? Would it be more dangerous, or would it just go kaboom?” George blinked, taken aback by your enthusiasm, a shy smile creeping onto his face. His cheeks flushed a soft pink, and he rubbed the back of his neck, clearly not expecting your genuine interest. “Maybe both!” he replied, a hint of excitement in his voice. It was a quick reaction, and to mask the sudden warmth in his cheeks, he slid back into his usual, mischievous teasing self. “Ohh, should I expect you to get a crush on me now, for my incredible potion skills?” You rolled your eyes, laughter bubbling up. “Shut up, George!” you shot back, a playful smile on your lips. With a grin, you turned to Fred. “Now we know who the smarter twin is~” George’s laughter mingled with yours, as Fred pouted. As 'smarter' twin met your gaze and saw your smile, something shifted in him—a spark of something deeper, something new, and he wasn't just sure if he liked it or not
CRUSHING ON YOU:
he gives you sweet but joking-sounding compliments, wanting to make you smile/blush but not being obvious with it
started seeking your presence in every room; the great hall, classes, outside, or quidditch playground. He just wanted to see you, hoped to see you, and was over the moon when he actually saw you
after that one time you complimented his potion skills; every time twins show you their new invention he unconsciously seeks your compliment. He may not know this himself, but you realized it, after one time you didn't say anything about his role in the thing, and he looked like a pouting, sad puppy...
him actually beaming after you compliment him
sometimes, his eyes subconsciously drop to your lips when talking to you
George would start helping you carry your books to classes. He would reason it, that he's doing it for something else you did (u never have idea what he's talking about), but he just doesn't want to admit it yet.
his heartbeat faster every time you suddenly touch him or show him any affection. Of course, he hides it with his usual playful expression, but he leans in your touch, and just hopes you're obvious to that
when it's crowded in the hall, he likes to put his hand on the small of your back to make sure you don’t get separated. First time he did it, you were flustered as crazy, and he didn't even realize what he did until you were already in the class! When he realized, he just joked that it's because you're getting lost too easily, but do you really believe in that...?
Him getting flustered yet excited to see you cheering over him (and Fred) during Quidditch matches. When it's a hot moment you even call his twins names, and it helps his determination (he has to win for you)
teacher catching him gazing lovingly at you. Sometimes they just let it slide because *young love*, but sometimes they ask him what he's doing and he comes up with an excuse or just shrugs
He’d find himself staring at you even in the Great Hall, as everyone is eating, and isn't it quite something for one of the Gryffindors to stare lovingly at Hufflepuff table?
unconsciously starts talking and thinking more about you when you aren't around. Like, the classes you don't share together, and something happens and he's like "Y/N would scrunch her nose and giggle at that, I can just see it" or while you eat at your house table, and George casually starts talking about you to Fred and Jordan "Isn't she clumsy, lately? Nearly fall on her face while going today to the library!" not realizing his obvious puppy eyes.
George, being the more emotional twin, enjoys just being his calm, sometimes worried or serious self with you. He's happy that you don't only like him (and Fred) for being funny guys, but also like him when he's too tired or too worried of being a fun guy. He likes having emotional and serious conversations with you.
CONFESSING TO YOU
He didn't want to confess to you for the longest time, not because he's shy, but because he's insecure. He loves Fred more than anything, but he can't help but sometimes feel that people prefer him. And so, he was bloody terrified, that you would be just another person who would prefer his twin. And he couldn't hear you say it, because it would break him, he knew that.
so it wasn't until Fred finally decided to speak with him about matter. Encourage him, tell him that Geroge is your favourite twin and it's obvious to everyone. And after a few days of that, he finally confessed to you.
people would assume that being Weasley twin, George would be confident and confess with a boom, but no. At said time he felt like nervous wreck, feeling his palms sweating, and his tongue-tied as if hexed. Nonetheless, one evening, as you two were strolling through the school grounds, he finally confessed with a nervous smile.
And you? Well... You couldn't be happier.
YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM
simp, soft bf, pouting when you're annoyed at him
loves you to the moon and back
compliments you everyday, from general to very specific things
"You're the most beautiful person in the Great Hall.""That mole you have on [place] suits you well. I love it. Can I kiss it?"
after you two started dating, he started doing unconscious things, like fixing your clothes after hugging you or having out session, and also fixing your hair when the wind makes it all in your face. It's like breathing for him
Forehead kisses. holding hands always. back hugs at random times.
You were already comfortable with him as friend, but now, as you are with him, you feel that you can turn off your brain, and be hundred percent sure that he will make sure you will not get hurt.
he’ll never ever cross your boundaries (unless you want him too?)
he’s in touch with his emotions, so you’ve probably seen him cry and be furious a few times.
somehow you made a habit of napping on each other's shoulders. Sometimes even on each other's thighs...
he always lean into your touch, even when he's with his brother or friends. he would never be embarrassed of loving you
normally isn't easy to be flustered, but when it comes to you... well, let me tell you, that you have your ways of making his cheeks pink
as your bf he will sometimes do silly, gentleman things like; holding an open door for you, trying to stall stairs for you so u can make it on time, or leave some cute paper charms on your table.
will treat you like royalty you are
when you're too tired to get back to your own common room, he would give you a piggy back ride
pretty sure, he would give you massages when you're tired (in exchange for a kiss ;))
he wants to know even more about you
wanting to - somehow - be part of your hobby. For example; if u like reading, he would ask you to read out loud for him, or ask to borrow your fav book, so you would have a new share topic to talk about. And if you like make-up, he will gladly let you use himself as your model (and will be pretty serious if you ask him which look you did, he prefers!). And if you like sports/quidditch, he will train with you or be your biggest cheerleader. He just wants to support you.
so he may, or may not, make this invention especially for you (not for the prank, but to brighten your day and make you smile)
tickle fights
you wearing his jumpers, obv
holds your hand when anxious
now that you're together, he doesn't only stare lovingly at you at classes, but also holds your hand under the desk
cheering for him in every Quidditch game and even wearing his shirt to show your support (unless it's against Hufflepuff... then you're supporting both teams)
him showing off on his broom, making sure you're looking at him
him flying straight to you, after the end of the game (includes sweaty kisses)
your outside make-out sessions are often interrupted by curious animals coming closer to you (he's used to it, he knows that animals just like you, but can't they be curious when he doesn't have his tongue in your mouth??)
you stealing some food from Kitchens and bring it to your bf, when you know he's working on their new intention (he often forgets about eating)
him being surprised seeing you as if it was the first time, but tiredly grinning at you, giving you a quick kiss, and a strong hug, to keep himself going through the night
him grinning at you lovingly, as he's observing you naming the plant he gave you
if u have an allergy to something or just don't like specific food, he makes sure Molly knows it before he invites you to burrow. He may be a tricker but he knows when to hold himself, because he never wants to seriously hurt you or upset you
as his partner, you're making it to the stadium of Molly's favourite in-laws, placing you next to Harry & Hermione
overall, he loves you like crazy, you understand each other and support each other, love full of cuddles and emotional support
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Summary: George is finally in a secret relationship with the meanest Hufflepuff in school after having a crush on her since his second year, rumors fly around about them before it all comes to a head.
Divider credits: @bernardsbendystraws
George was sweet, even if he could be a troublemaker he was never outwardly mean to anyone for no reason. Always being polite, holding doors open for people, picking up people's things if they dropped them, his mother did raise a gentleman after all.
So when the sweeter twin was found hanging around the meanest girl in the school people starting talking "Why is he hanging out with her? She's so rude." "It's weird right? He's usually so nice why would he be around her?" People couldn't wrap their head around it.
George had been infatuated with her since his second year, he found her interesting; one of the meanest girls in school in the nicest house in hogwarts, it was odd to say the least. Even though he desperately wanted to he never talked to her because of how standoffish she was towards people that weren't her friends. He knew how mean she could be towards people, yet he still felt drawn to her.
People didn't like her that much, she was quite rude, she made it known if she didn't like you, she was quick to insult you if you did something she didn't like, she was just mean and standoffish, most people didn't like her. She had a short list of people who actually did like her; her two friends; a couple of Ravenclaw girls named Anna and Rosie, and then of course George was on that list too.
He was nervous wreck around her, anytime he'd try to talk to her he'd chicken out last second. He finally got to talk to her for the first time in the last three years. He saw her in the corner of the Potions classroom, by herself assumingly because her friends were in Ravenclaw and they had classes with Slytherin this year. He took a chance and took the spot next to her.
She looked at him a puzzled expression on her face, as he took the spot next to her he just smiled at her not able to muster up the courage to actually talk to her yet. They sat there in silence until class started then he was able to calm down and talk to her, "I'm George by the way." He stammered out, she didn't even look up from the cauldron, "I know. I'm Y/n." She said keeping her response short as she stirred her cauldron, George just stared at her in awe, he kept looking at her not paying attention to the assignment. While pouring the ingredients in his cauldron and he accidentally added to much powdered moonstone,
The cauldron exploded, leaving his hair blown back and his face covered with soot, he was embarrassed then he heard laughing coming from beside him, Y/n was laughing like a maniac, she started clutching her sides almost falling onto the floor from laughter. The sound of her laughter drowning out the lecture he was getting from Snape.
From across the room, Fred and Lee saw this unfold, they felt bad for George, thinking about how embarrassed he must be until a giant grin plastered itself on his face and laughed with her. "oh godric, he's stupid for her." Lee mumbled to Fred as he sighed, focusing back on his cauldron.
After that George was seen with her all over, he'd go sit at the Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw table where she sat with her friends and talked to her for a bit before going back to his own table earning odd looks from his housemates, he'd stop her in the halls to talk to her, he'd sit next to her in every class they had.
He was in love. Rumors started, some cruel other just plain stupid. "I heard she put a love spell on him, I bet that's why he's around her so much now." "Well I heard that she's part siren and part vampire and she's using her siren powers to lure in her next victim which is him." Most of them were very stupid.
This bothered George, he didn't want people thinking about her in such a bad light. It didn't seem to bother her however, no one was going to say it to her face nor would someone try to make fun of her for it so she didn't care.
They started seeing each other, though it was in secret. They'd rather have their relationship out of the public eye, George liked it this way because no one else saw her the way he did when they were alone. She was more gentle, sweeter even. He liked it, though he didn't mind her being mean to him. She talked to him differently when alone, her tone was always mellifluous, she spoke softer, she always told him how much she loved him. He just melted when he was with her.
She was fine with keeping the relationship a secret because she didn't want to affect his reputation, plus she liked the sneaking around seeing him completely in love with her made her heart flutter especially knowing no one else saw him like that, he was putty in her hands and she loved it. She tried not being mean to him in private— even though some rude remarks slipped through she still tried her damnedest to be nice to him.
People started noticing how they would sometimes walk together alone, their hands would brush against one another, sometimes their hands would wind up intertwined with one anothers, some students swore they saw them making out in the library once. George was constantly bombarded with questions about her, asking if they were actually a thing or not. He never knew how to respond so he usually just shrugged before walking off.
Y/n however wasn't asked anything, people didn't know how to approach her. She had a mean face, her body language always seemed rather aggressive. So they just asked George instead thinking he'd be more inclined to answer.
The relationship wasn't going to go public for a while, they liked the secret they had. But that changed pretty abruptly.
It was a usual day in the great hall, it was the weekend so no classes. People were scattered about doing homework, reading, playing wizards chess and other games. You were sitting at the Hufflepuff table your friends sitting across from you, you were just talking when you looked behind your friends head towards the Gryffindor table,
You saw George, he was sandwiched between Fred and a girl you didn't know. She was obviously flirting with George, her lashes fluttered as she spoke to him, she twirled her hair between her fingers while puffing out her chest a bit. You could feel a look of disgust come across your face causing your friends to turn, "oh. Looks like someone's making a move on your man." Anna, said turning back to you kinda smirking at your obvious jealousy.
You scoffed looking away, "I don't know what you're talking about." You spat earning a laugh from both girls, "So you're not gonna do something about that? It's obvious she's into him." Rosie said motioning towards the girl sitting next to your boyfriend. Your eyes landed on the two seeing the girl place a hand on his chest, "oh wow she's bold. You should turn her into a toad." Rosie said clearly instigating, you quickly stood up making your way towards them, you could hear Anna and Rosie laughing behind you.
You approached George, his eyes widened as he saw you before he smiled. "Hey George can you come with me real quick." You said grabbing his arm attempting to lead him away, the other girl quickly latched on to his other arm pulling him back, "excuse you. We were talking, who are you to him anyway?" The girl spat surprisingly, annoyed at the interruption.
George looked at his girlfriend as her face turned sour at the girls audacity. "Who am I? I'm his fucking girlfriend. Who the fuck are you?" The words spilled out like word vomit, you didn't even think before saying them. The table fell silent at your words, George's face lit up as his cheeks turned pink. Your cheeks turned red as George wiggled his arm away from the other girls grip, allowing you to pull him up from his seat leading him out of the hall.
Once you were out of the room, he started laughing. You just stood there face hot from embarrassment at what you just said. "Wow, I didn't think that's how people would find out we were really dating." He said laughing to himself a bit, you slapped his shoulder "well that wouldn't have happened if you stopped that girl from hitting on you." You turned away from him, rubbing your hands on your face.
You feel his arms snake around your waist as he leans his head on your shoulder, "don't worry love, I only have eyes for you." He said kissing your cheek. You smile at him, still feeling a bit jealous, but you knew he meant it. He spun you around planting a soft kiss on your lips, "well atleast you don't have to worry about girls hitting on me now." He said with a smirk, you laughed at his remark before pulling him into a hug.
"you're so stupid." You mutter against him, "yeah but you love it." He whispered, kissing the top of your head.
George Weasley x reader right but she's like mean and standoffish and stuff but he's into it, also if this pertains to the story she'd be a Hufflepuff.
Hellooo, i hope you like it ~ ♡
Falling for Trouble .。*・゚゚
Summary: You weren’t exactly the kind of girl people expected George Weasley to fall for. Standoffish, sarcastic, and known for your sharp tongue, you had a reputation for keeping people at arm’s length. Despite being a Hufflepuff, you weren’t all sunshine and warmth—you were the kind of Hufflepuff that made people question if you were in the right house at all. George, however, found it fascinating. The more you rolled your eyes at him, the more he wanted to make you laugh. The more you pushed him away, the more determined he was to worm his way into your heart. And, to your horror, it was starting to work.
george weasley x f!reader
You didn’t hate George Weasley.
But Merlin, he made it hard not to.
He was loud. Annoying. Relentless.
And worst of all? He had somehow decided that you—you, of all people—were going to be his new favorite person to bother.
“Y/N! There you are,” George said, sliding into the seat beside you in the library, ignoring the pointed glare you sent his way. “Miss me?”
You scoffed, turning back to your Potions textbook. “Like I’d miss a migraine.”
George only grinned, completely unfazed. “Aww, you do care.”
You snapped your book shut and turned to glare at him. “What do you want?”
“Nothing much,” he said, propping his chin in his hand. “Just wondering why someone as interesting as you insists on being so grumpy all the time.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Maybe because certain people won’t leave me alone?”
He gasped, clutching his chest. “Are you saying you don’t enjoy my company?”
“I loathe your company.”
“You wound me, love.”
You groaned, standing up with your book. “If I walk away right now, will you stay here and talk to yourself?”
“Probably,” he admitted. “But I’d much rather talk to you.”
Rolling your eyes, you turned on your heel and left.
He followed.
Because of course he did.
It wasn’t just one incident.
No, George Weasley had made it his mission to crack your cold exterior.
He sat next to you in class despite the abundance of other seats. He partnered with you during assignments even when you scowled at him. He made little comments just to see your reaction, laughing every time you threw a snarky retort back at him.
And worst of all? People noticed.
“You know he likes you, right?” Hannah Abbott whispered as you sat in the common room one night.
You scoffed. “Please. George Weasley flirts with everyone.”
Hannah smirked. “Not like he does with you.”
You ignored the heat creeping up your neck. “He’s annoying.”
“He’s persistent,” she corrected. “And you don’t tell him to piss off like you do with everyone else.”
You scowled, flipping through your book. “Maybe I should start.”
Hannah just laughed.
It all came to a head one afternoon when you were heading back to the common room after a particularly exhausting day.
Of course, George was there, waiting for you outside the Great Hall like some sort of overly enthusiastic puppy.
You stopped in your tracks. “Why?”
He grinned. “Why what?”
“Why are you always here?”
His grin widened. “Because you like it.”
You let out an incredulous laugh. “Oh, do I?”
“Yup,” he said, popping the “p.” “You pretend to be all mean and scary, but I know the truth. Deep down, you have a soft spot for me.”
Your eyes narrowed. “I do not.”
He stepped closer, eyes dancing with amusement. “Then why haven’t you hexed me yet?”
You opened your mouth—then promptly shut it.
Damn him. He had a point.
George chuckled. “See? You like me.”
You huffed. “I tolerate you.”
“Oh, love,” he said, shaking his head. “You do more than tolerate me.”
You were about to snap back when, out of nowhere, George reached forward and tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
Your breath hitched.
His usual teasing smirk softened into something else. Something dangerous.
“I like you, Y/N,” he said, voice quieter now. “And I think—no, I know—that deep down, you like me too.”
For the first time, you couldn’t find a snarky reply.
You were trapped—staring up at George Weasley like a complete idiot, heart hammering in your chest.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
This wasn’t part of the plan.
And yet…
“Say the word,” George murmured, eyes locked onto yours. “And I’ll stop.”
You swallowed.
And then, before you could change your mind, you grabbed his scarf, yanked him down, and kissed him.
George barely had time to react before you were pulling away, face burning.
“There,” you muttered. “Happy now?”
George blinked. Then, a slow, smug grin spread across his face.
“Oh, very.”
You groaned, shoving him away. “I hate you.”
“You adore me.”
“Shut up.”
He just laughed, throwing an arm around your shoulders.
requested: “George feeling sad about his owls and going to Y/n for comfort”
word count: 225
“y/n?” you heard the familiar voice of your boyfriend, george, call your name from the door of your dorm room. you were taking a mind break from school and reading in your bed.
you looked up from your book and smiled at george. “hi george.” as he walked closer to you your smile dropped from seeing the upset look on his face.
“are you ok?” you asked him. he shrugged.
“just really needed to see you, love.” he said. you moved over to make room for him and he laid down next to you. he wrapped is arms around your torso and rested his head on your chest. you gently played with his hair.
“how were the owls for you?” you asked him. you knew that george had been dreading this day. everyone was anxiously studying for weeks.
“i don’t know.” he sighed. “it was stressful. i’m not sure how i did.” you rubbed his back as he talked.
“that’s ok, georgie. at least it’s over now.” you said. he looked up at you and smiled. “what?” you smiled back. he leaned up and kissed you which you instantly reciprocated. he parted from your lips and kissed your cheek.
“read to me? i love listening to your voice.” he asked you. you nodded and reopened your book as he rested on your chest again.
(Rose for the Lady - George Weasley x fem! Reader)
Muggle-born students have really made Valentines Day take off at Hogwarts
Sixth-years were selling roses as a fundraiser and coming around to people during meals in the Great Hall to promote the fundraiser and take sales.
Susan Bones came over to where you and your friends were sitting.
“Roses for the lady?” they gestured to the twins (likely because you were sitting in between the both of them, something that always happened unless the twins were trying to be mischievous towards someone. But what could you say? The three of you were really close. You were close with Lee, too, of course. But the twins understood you.
Lately, Hermione and Ginny have been insisting that George is into you. You keep telling them that it’s hogwash and you’re just friends.
“For now. ~” is all they keep saying in response.
But this should prove your point. If he liked you, he'd buy roses for you from him. Not roses from the both of them, joking around with you like they always do. Roses from George specifically. And he won’t do that. He’ll either say no thanks or they'll both make of small show of presenting you with flowers as their mysterious and wonderful rendezvous lover. Or something like that. They get really creative with these impromptu stories.
What happened next, however, only proved Ginny and Hermione to be more credible.
“Yeah, I'll take a rose, thanks,” said George to [the sixth year]. Your eyes widened. You could feel Hermione and Ginny share a glance and a smirk. You looked at George like he’d become the next Nearly Headless Nick. “Here you go, for you.”
“You're joking.” you insisted, staring at the rose, your eyes wider still.
“No, really. For you, Beautiful.” Maybe all those times he called you “Beautiful” weren't just him messing around. I mean he made it clear that he really did think you were beautiful and not just kidding, but you still thought he was just teasing or playing around when he called you “Beautiful” as though it were your name. Of course you teasingly called him “Handsome” back. He was handsome, of course -really handsome when you think about it- but you didn't mean it like that. You just meant it like friends do. Unless… were you more than friends? Maybe he did mean it like that. And if he did, is that so bad?
You didn't think so, but you still needed to sort out how you felt. While it felt like ages had passed in your head, it had only been a few seconds in real life. A few seconds of you flat out staring at George while he smiled patiently —maybe admiringly too, when you thought about it— and everyone else stared at the two of you. Seamus looked like he was going to say something, but Dean nudged him and he stopped before he even started.
“I…” you didn't know how to react “I need to go! See you guys!” And with that, you exited the Great Hall as quick as you ever had.
In the hall, you thought to yourself. Confused, but also… in disbelief to be quite honest.
“‘I need to go?!’ ‘See you guys?!’ Seriously?!” You thought aloud to yourself. Sure, you weren’t sure how you should’ve responded. But you had a feeling it certainly wasn’t… whatever that was!
Back in the Great Hall, things were at a standstill.
Everyone sat there, confounded. What just happened? George himself not only looked confused, but also worried. Had he done something wrong? Did he upset you? And, whether or not he did, are you ok? He had to find out. He had to find you. Unscrunching his eyebrows, and with a decisive nod of his head, he decided what he needed to do. He left the table and set out to find you. Everyone else at the table sat there and waited for the drama to unfold. Not in a toxic way, of course, but their friends were oblivious idiots sometimes and they could appreciate that. Either Ron and Hermione or Ginny and Harry were sure to be next. Dean and Seamus had already gotten together. Somehow the two boys were the least oblivious of the group.
Back in the corridors, George found you.
You didn’t see George but you heard someone turning the corridor behind you and you knew it was him as he came further up the hall to you. You could feel it. And he was walking fast to find you quickly, but not running so he wouldn’t miss you.
“Hey! Wait up!” George called out to you. He had finally found you, wandering the halls. Something you always did when you couldn’t figured something out. The last thing you could do when you were like that —feeling stuck and restless in body and mind— was sit still. You once did two full laps around Hogwarts. Which doesn’t sound like a lot but becomes a bit of a massive venture when you consider the sheer size of the place, let alone the moving staircases and other magical features.
George had caught you. But you hadn’t figured everything out yet! You needed to figure things out before you talked to him! Or was it… vise versa? Did you need to talk to him in order to figure things out? But still, you didn’t feel ready. Despite your fight-or-flight feeling, you stopped in your tracks when you heard him call out to you. With his insanely long legs, it didn’t take him long to catch up to you where you stood. You didn’t turn around though, you just stood there.
“Hey,” he said sensitively but insensitively, placing a hand on your shoulder as he walked around to talk to you face-to-face. “Are you alright? Did I do something wrong?” You wouldn’t take your eyes off the floor.
“No. I just-“ You were fidgeting with your hands.
“Hey,” he said softly, placing his other hand on your empty shoulder and squeezing softly. “It’s ok. You don’t have to worry around me. Now, tell me what’s up. If you’re ready, that is.” He released your shoulders and then he waited patiently. Like he always does. God, he’s perfect. He always has been and thinking that he likes you like that, it makes your head spin and your heart light.
You took a deep breath, steadying yourself, and then you asked him.
“Do you like me?”
He smiled softly and gave a bit of a breathy laugh. But before you could stress about whether that was a good or a bad thing he responded.
“Of course I like you. Wouldn’t hang around so much if I didn’t, now would I?” This prompted a smile out of you “Now, if you’re asking me whether or not I’m in love with you…” he paused and your heart stuttered, “I’ve been in love with you for two years.” His eyes poured beautifully into yours.
“You… really?” You couldn’t believe it.
“Yeah, really!” He said in a loving, mocking tone. “So what do you think of that, Beautiful?” he asked, reaching his hand out to you to give you the option of taking it.
“I think, I like it,” you said taking his hand with a goofy, adorable smile.
“To feed your ego or your heart?” he teased.
“What ego?” You questioned with feigned ignorance. He laughed. “My heart, of course. I think I love you.”
“You think?!” he asked, smiling with his semi-feigned incredulousity.
“I’ve only just found out, George! Give me some time to settle into it!” You both laughed.
“I’ll give you all the time in the world and then some for whatever you need.” He said with love dripping from his voice. You could tell he was genuine and it made you smile. You leaned into him and he wrapped his unoccupied arm around you.

george weasley, the king with all his pride which no one could strip from him, all the cockiness no one could touch, the one so high from all, that no one would play against his will.
then why oh why was everything he had built for himself, his charm, his walls, his cool, all fumbling and crumbling beneath him when you arrived?
why did his heart flutter? or why did heat rise to his cheeks and why did he feel so weak to a pretty smile? you had every power over him and he despised you for it. he despised himself on how easily you could walk all over him and he'd say thank you. he could'nt fathom why he was so desperate for your attention even if it was for a mere second.
walking around the hallways in all his glory he'd immediatley caught you making her way. it was peak rush hour, everyone was squirming their way from one class to another and his girl had seemed to lost her footing
George sweeped in catching her from having a meet with the floor. her arms were hugging him. georgie took a second for him to teach himslef how to breathe again.
"the words are you're welcome" supplied george when your mouth lied open. george weasley had his arms swung around your waist having you pressed to his chest.
georgie didnt want to let go. he wanted to keep you pressed to him, his hands were everyone could see. he wanted to hold on forever and not let go.
"are you planning on letting go georgie?"
fuck. george was officially pudding after he heard georgie roll out of your mouth, he was fullfilled.
"so you can go and fall all over again? let them finish scavengering the halls or you'll become squash." how he managed to sound so confident and steady he didnt know?
maybe it had something to do with rodger holmes on the other side of the corridor, his face filled with jealousy. it gave georgie a kick. the girl he's been pinning for in georgie's arms, pressed against him whispering into eachother's ears. Holmes did not need to know what as long as he could see she was in her weasley's arms. it helped him establish his dominance. you were to be his even if you didnt know it yet, even if you'd thought him to be the cold hearted prankster, and rodger better sit the hell down.
