Ya know, something I recently realized? I think George’s final dsmp stream is meant to be like a parallel to c!Dream.

Like he destroys the world, becomes god, and has control over the server, and says this is what he wants, but it’s definitely not. He makes it clear in his lore and while walking around the smp that all he really wants is a home. No fighting, no stupidness, no countries. Just one big happy family, and that’s exactly what Dream wanted too, but then he realized what kinds of powers he could have (with the revive book and such), that he could become like god, and more and more he starts to think that being like god is what he wants, all while lying to himself that this was what would eventually result in him getting his original desires.

But in the end, it’s a lie. A lie they tell themselves to cope with the fact that nothing will ever be like the old days again.
