Hey friend. Speaking from experience not going to therapy is really not the best idea. I wish i could be there to hug you and gently drag you to talk about your feelings but alas no. Moral of the story: I love you. Go to therapy.

Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!

I am tagging dinosauratheart, nonnobissolum, mireia-freespirit, chr3stomathic, georgichka, penantiomers, softmeatscrown, threwoutbelievable, tangible-tangerine, and susabelljones. If you were tagged and you don't wanna do it, don't do it; if you weren't tagged but you wanna do it, pretend I tagged you!
Important Letters To Important People, Part III
A Letter To The One Who Never Forgets Me
Dear Brother,
I miss you so much.
I miss the way your laugh sounds.
I miss having to look up a bajillion feet
just to see your face.
I miss hugging you.
I miss feeling totally safe, knowing that your embrace would protect me.
I miss watching you push food around on your plate,
watching you grimace when I asked if you were alright,
and hearing the twist in your voice when you told me,
"Eating is hard sometimes."
-
Darling, everything’s hard sometimes
but that’s the beauty of things, I hear
And you know what?
When things are the hardest
when my brain is eggs in a frying pan
and life is a spatula,
you completely unscramble me
when my eyes are a kalidascope
and the world keeps twisting the end,
you offer me binoculars instead.
-
The Internet is a magical place
but I can’t
see you or hear you or touch you or smell you
on Facebook chat.
We try to compensate with Skype calls
and telephone conversations
but as weeks race by
I can’t remember little things:
like if you wrinkle your nose when you don’t like something
if you laugh even when jokes aren’t funny
what you looked like filling a cup at the bubbler
or whether you cried when you wished me goodbye.
-
You are so brave.
For the talent show,
you stripped down to your skeleton
and showed us your bones
naming each one as you went.
I don’t know how you do it, my dear.
How do you hide the murals on your femurs
and the coal sketches on your sternum.
You are so beautiful.
How do you not see it?
-
Love Always,
Emery <3
