Year 1525 Part 1:

The Scott family started the new year with a few events. Gideon’s youngest sister, Clemence had her 18th birthday and quickly married a local boy named Geoffrey Silversweater moving into his home. Then the household celebrated Francis’ first birthday. 

Next door, the Bell twins also had their birthday to the relief of their family when Elinor successfully lived to see her first year and surprisingly proved to be in better health than Mathias albeit only slightly.

1500-1599 Recap Part 23:

The newest additions to the family turned one to the joy of their parents. Despite how their parents may have felt about each other it was a relief that they survived their infancy rolls. 

John was arrested and Simon proposed to Jamila.

John then died from illness in the prison and his widow was didn’t feel the need to shed any tears.

Year 1525 Part 3:

It didn’t take long for Simon to propose and Jamila was happy to accept. They had barely been engaged five minutes before they lamented their ages in that they couldn’t wed straight away. 

Following the engagement, news broke that John and Gerald had been arrested along with Jamila’s cousin, Elizabeth after a robbery turned violent and resulted in their capture. 

The kids were kept out of the loop on these developments and slept soundly to enjoy their time as little children. 

Isabel worried and kept herself busy with work despite her growing belly. Thomas felt conflicted about his brother’s arrest, on the one hand it was his younger brother who he grew up with and partially raised but on the other, John had grown into a man who proved reckless and dangerous. So Thomas decided that John had chosen his path and turned his mind to the rest of his family, particularly his wife who he decided was the most beautiful woman in the world.

Year 1524 Part 5: 

tw/cw: toxic relationship

John’s criminal tendencies had spiraled out of control after the novelty of the twins’ birth wore off. 

It was no surprise to the household when John and Millicent’s arguments turned physical though it only further drew bitterness in Millicent’s eyes when John would come out of it mostly unscathed. Her resolve to leave only strengthened when her father scolded her about making peace in the home and her brother was more concerned about John than her. 

Ever since then John went out of his way to make Millicent more miserable even going as far to toss juice on her to make extra work in getting out the stains from the clothes.
