Gerald Robinson was a Roman Catholic priest at a hospital in Ohio where he tended to the sick and terminally ill. He worked there with 71-year-old Sister Pahl, who was the caretaker of the chapel. One day, in the year 1980, Gerald attacked Pahl in the chapel, strangling her and stabbing her a grand total of 31 times with a sword-shaped letter opener. To make this all the more disturbing, Gerald carved nine inverted crosses into her flesh, and lastly covered her body with an altar cloth. Gerald was questioned for the grisly murder two weeks later, but no charges were ever laid on him. The case went cold until 2003, when police received a letter from a woman who claimed Gerald used to sexually abuse her in a number of Satanic rituals when she was a child. Some of these rituals included human sacrifice. Using new forensic techniques, the evidence was examined and Gerald was eventually charged with murder. He received 15 years to life in prison, where he died in 2014.
