what do you think why the game only ended in a draw?
well there are a few reasons
as you might have noticed , a LOT of important players are injured and can’t play. basically half of our national team who played in the WC are unable to play now
especially bastian schweinsteiger is missing, our captain and one of those who usually bring control and organisation into the game
I don’t want to say it but I have to mention it : retired players are missing too
so because of so many mising players there are young players who have not the experience with playing in the national team and the whole automatism is missing
I also think that at the end before Ireland equalised, our players were mentally already in the dressing room and thought their 3 points were safe, therefore there were mistakes after mistakes and ireland took the chance
all in all we’re not the team that played in the world cup. everyone knew that it wouldn’t be easy, löw actually said that. you just can’t compare our national team to the national team that played in the world cup
but I also think that we still have a very good chance for the euro quali simply because we played against the strongest teams now - the one who are left are gibraltar and georgia and the others all managed to beat them high, so we will manage to do this too
also the match against georgia and most of the others are next year when bastian is back from the dead and all the other players probably too
we will make it, trust me
...oh just fuck off
Thank you Toni!
Goal!!!
Toooooor für Deutschland von TOOOOOONI KROOOOOOOS!
Today is a good day. It may be my last day of Fall Break and the insanity begins again tomorrow, but I got to sleep in, shower as long as I wanted, I finally got myself some new jeans, got to go downtown to my favorite little Catholic bookstore in my city, got myself new medals (mine were getting so old), and I finally got my eyebrows done, so I’m not like Groucho Marx anymore.
I’m slightly torn about the Germany-Ireland match because I’m actually more Irish than German (half Irish vs quarter German) and my family is a crazy even split between our German and Irish heritage (seriously, my house is full of steins and Celtic knots) but I’ve only ever really followed the German NT my whole life. Maybe a Guinness during the match will satisfy my support of Ireland.
Dear Jogi, PUT POLDI IN THE STARTIG AT THE GAME AGAINST IRELAND. Sincerely, every football fan in the world
