so apparently in Übernatürlich the catchphrase would be „family friends and cheese“ instead of „family don’t end on blood“ according to Rob and Alex. Yes, they’re right. Cheese is important.

in the light of the cas vs. cass discourse (it's cas period) I thought about what would be the most ridiculous way to spell his name and my German brain presents to you:

I’m guessing this of a collective “you” or a singular “you?” You will have to report in the results!!!
Yeah! Many languages make that difference and in German that would of course make Cas’ love for Dean very explicit.
It’s like the bit with “I got too close to the humans in my charge. You.” In English the fact that it’s humans plural make me think that you was also plural (so Sam and Dean). It German it’s clearly only Dean.
(Other funny thing in other languages is the difference between the formal/informal you. Seeing who Dean is informal with and who’s he’s formal with and when he switches from one to the other is pretty interesting! German!Dean for example didn’t ever use the formal you with Cas even though he only changed from Castiel to Cas in season 5 I think, much later than US!Dean)
(Though then of course you have to wonder if another language version is still canon. The German version is in theory as official as the English one... Tricky, tricky.)
(German TV also has different rules about how much they can curse; i.e. they can curse more and still keep the rating 16+ That’s funny too)
German!Dean may be homophobic but German!Cas is cheese so it's not technically gay

Ok what's up with the german episode titles of season 11 and the weird fixation on putting "the darkness" in the title?
Translated into English we have:
The fire of the darkness (out of the darkness, into the fire)
The void of the darkness (form and void)
The darkness blooms (the bad seed)
The world of the darkness (our little world)
The end of the darkness (oh brother where art thou?)
The resurrection of the darkness (the devil in the details)
The longing/yearning/desire for the darkness (love hurts)
The revenge of the darkness (hells angel)
The family of the darkness (all in the family)
The light of the darkness (alpha and omega)
Ten (in numbers: 10!) episodes with "the darkness" in the title while only one (ONE!) of the original titles refers to the darkness. Who was translating them? They literally all sound like the same name.
I have one question:
Why?
