Are we pearl-clutching because a Mormon didn’t write it? Are we upset because the VAMPIRE MOVIE ABOUT VAMPIRES was an ode to gothic horror and not a pro-life/abstinence-only Volvo commercial written by a Mormon? Are we mad at the frank exploration of the “death and the maiden” trope and socially-enforced sexual shame and the treatment of women and mental health and the abuse survivor? Are we dying because our version of passive femininity and paranormal romance was subverted? Are we jealous of the most decedent mustache?

I didn’t like the syrupy movie about Mormon vampires but I liked the Dracula adaptation that was actually a gothic horror film. Truly I am the most depraved of all the perverts.
