Christmas is a good time for Bach cantatas. Here is “Bereitet die Wege, bereitet die Bahn.” BWV 132, from the Netherlands Bach Society.
Excellent cantata from J.S Bach, Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir (BWV 29). Bach’s capacity to write a piece of music that can be used in any other piece and context is quite fascinating. Listeners may recognise the beginning from his E Major Partita for Violin, and the opening chorus from his much later Mass in B Minor.
