On top of all the awesome decisions made in Wonder Woman that were already widely discussed, I have another one to throw out there:
The Germans speak actual German. As in, they finally hired *native speakers* for all German being spoken. Which you’d think would be ... normal, given how easy it is nowadays to get actors from across the world?! But it isn’t. Seriously. Most times, they train some English speaking actors to speak German, and it’s just so clear that it’s not a native speaker speaking (don’t even get me started on what they are then saying, bc the wording in German is hardly ever what a typical German would say either). And the German accents by the English speaking actors weren’t too terrible either.
So another KUDOS! to Patty Jenkins for actually hiring German people to say German things and putting effort into what German things were said!
I know there was also a lot of stuff spoken in the scenes in Belgium which may have been Flemish or Dutch (not quite sure which as I don’t know either language) - anyone out there who can tell whether those dialogues were also done properly?
