so this happened to me last week, but it’s been bothering me for a while.

I was talking to some people in class and there was a girl who kept staring at me and glancing down to my wrist where i have scars. After a few minutes i turned to her and asked if i could help her, and she asked me what happened to my wrist. I told her i didn’t really want to talk about it and i thought she would leave it at that, but she kept asking until I finally said “I already told you that I don’t feel comfortable talking about it, and I would appreciate it if you stopped asking.”

So instead of leaving the subject alone, she started talking, very loudly i might add, about how I should cover up things like that if I don’t want people staring at me and asking me why I did it if I didn’t want attention. She told me I shouldn’t be rude to her for asking a question, even when I had politely asked her to stop several times. I haven’t had to deal with something like that in a while, and I forgot how horrible it is.

Guys, if someone doesn’t want to talk about something, please do not push them. 

If someone looks uncomfortable with what you are asking or saying, do not keep talking about it.

And please, whatever you do, do not make fun of someone with scars or cuts, and don’t make them feel bad about it. Just leave them be, don’t make things harder for them.
