> It took you a little bit of time, but you’ve found a fairly non-dangerous part of the forest to go for a hike slash walk in with your date. At the very least, it was nowhere near where you had run into that subjugglator.
> Now, obviously, you cannot just tell someone “find me in the forest.” That would be stupid. You wait patiently near one of the marked trails a mild distance away from one of the few bus stops in the area, having texted her directions a few nights before when she said she had time available to go out with you again.
> You brush some nonexistent dirt off your suit, still preoccupied with trying to ‘look your best,’ when you hear the sound of footsteps approaching you. You look towards them, a small smile playing at your face.
“Hell* V!ll*h! ! h*pe the tr!p *ut here wasn't t** much tr*uble?”
> Nice. You managed to avoid calling her ‘miss.’
“! th!nk y*u'll enj*y th!s part *f the f*rest, *r at least ! h*pe y*u w!ll. !t's qu!te l*vely, and there aren't qu!te as many bears *r snakes lurk!ng !n !t as *ther places.”
> The forest in question is technically all around you, a temperate forest consisting of common deciduous trees. Birds occasionally chirp or squawk nearby (the squawks sometimes make you wince), the bushes rustle as small creatures dart away from you, and a few insects float lazily along in the air.
> In the distance is a tree much larger than the others, towering above all other trees. The mega tree. It makes a convenient landmark, though you don’t think it’s anything other than a peculiarly overgrown tree.
