I’ve been listening to a ton of Gerry Rafferty lately. He was a fascinating guy, a brilliant songwriter and kind of a tragic figure. Loved nothing more than making music and despised everything about the machine that turned it into fame and money. Suffered terribly from stage fright and hated touring. The whole thing drove him to drink and an early grave. But he was a hell of a talent.

In Memory of Michael Madsen
My nephew wants nothing more than to listen to Gerry Rafferty. I fear he may grow up to be a jaded noir PI, so the least I could do was buy him evidence collection kits and a camera with a telephoto zoom lens. He keeps drooling into the evidence bags...career prospects looking grim.
