Most recent configuration of MIAMI VINE in the lobby of the Village of Palmetto bay Municipal Building (Florida). The second image is appropriate since this artwork was conceived during my artist residency at the Deering Estate in Miami, Fl. The Strangler Figs and mangrove forests had a strong influence as you can see.
Somewhat inspired by the murals of the American Regionalism, this colorful homage to farming took 16 days of painting on site. www.GerryStecca.com Music from the awesome: Free Music Archive KETSA: "Peace Flower" from the album: Layers [email protected]

A larger version will be shown in May at my MFA thesis exhibition in Wynwood.

Random stuio photo. Getting ready for Art Basel Miami 2007 in Wynwood (Miami, Fl) at the 1st & 21st Studios. Here you see how the early work struggled against gravity, a characteristic I am re-exploring and applying to future sculptures and installations. The painting/drawing of Power Lines is a recurring subject that comes and goes pending my levels of urban exposure.. GerryStecca.com
