Nan leaned against the trunk of a tree, chewing idly on one of her claws. The party had found a freshwater spring a few minutes' walk from camp, perfect for refilling their waterskins and bathing after days on the road.
Ever too much herself to recognise propriety when it bit her in the face, Nan was impatient for the men to finish their turn. If she had to stop and scrub herself off, why did everyone insist on making her wait? "What's the big fuckin' deal? It's not I haven't seen a dick before. I bet you any money they've seen plenty of tits themselves, too."
an owl delivered @gerudospiriit;
☽ = wandering alone at night. (for one of your bg3 muses if you want?)
It'd only been a few days since the crash and his untimely trip within a portal; it was quite the riveting start to a dilemma already proven dreadful, leaving him rather solicitous regarding his thoughts. The camp that he'd settled himself within housed only a few traveling companions; had it not been for Shadowheart stumbling across him, he would have likely become a willing casualty to the absorption within the portal, becoming a lost fragment within the rest of the universe.
They were already so small in the face of it all. The stories he'd heard, read, they were simply that-- stories. Though, he'd been abruptly hit with the factual instance of that not being anywhere close to the case.
It all made him wonder what else there was. Just when he'd thought he'd hit a certain precipice with knowledge, there was always a blatant reminder of how expansive the realms really were. Just how much of a particle amongst it all they existed as.
Before him, the fire crackled with an elegant intrigue, dancing its flames of orange and red with a beauty that only his eyes found an attachment to. The barrage of the unprecedented, unpredictable in its own nature. The trees that lined their escape spot were merely a blanket for them to the rest of the world; they'd just parted from the Emerald Grove, so there was no shortage of foliage to keep them concealed until next light.
It'd been the faint crunch that brewed itself with the ease of the wind that managed to catch his attention; it was silent give for the fire, as the others had already tucked themselves away for the evening. The wizard was the only one remaining by the embers that had inevitably begun to wane themselves away.
Careful curiosity laced with the raw survival instincts that had kicked themselves into overdrive within the course of the last few days were the driving factors of his feet atop the dirt, pulling him into the direction of the noise. He was capable enough, and the others were only a mere shout away, if need be.
"Hello?" The wizard had called toward the thick line of foliage, daring not to cross its threshold without further examination. He was working heavily under the assumption that something ravenous and potentially dangerous would have made its lonesome claim on him by now. "Better to show yourself now than become an unfortunate victim to the craft of my palms." As spoken and within them, a low, dim flicker of a Firebolt curated itself with all the ease of breathing.

Starter for @gerudospiriit Basil w/ Nabooru ft. Halsin
The Goblin Camp smelled of smoke and fire, roasted meat, strong alcohol, and the blood of water; whipped into a frenzy of rage and violence, preparing for battle. The excess of warriors uncertain and uncaring what the next dawn brought. Basil kept to the circles of torch light, shoulders erect, and walking with a confidence that she did not feel. Reminding herself constantly of Father Arnica's words: if you act as though you belong, others will believe that you do. She had broken from the group of adventurers she had partnered with to search the corridors and rooms of the old temple, into which the goblins and their leaders had taken refuge. Room after room revealed drunk and reveling goblins; an unfortunate prisoner or two that Basil talked into a chance at freedom; but not the man she was looking for. But stray words of 'pet bear,' drew Basil into the furthest recesses of the temple in vain hope. She passed through a heavy iron door into a dungeon. There, she crept forward until she heard the sound of steel on metal, voices raised in conflict, and smelled blood. Basil ran to the end of the corridor.
When she emerged into the bright light of the fire, she saw a dozen or so goblins in battle with a woman of blazing red hair, and a bear. The woman danced between raised scimitars and brandished spears, effortless and confident; flanked by the power and violence of the beast at her side. Basil picked her side. She raised her hand and a golden light rose to her open palm, as though throwing a javelin she tossed the bolt into the back of an unsuspecting Goblin. It crashed into him and the goblins realized they had been flanked. The result was chaos.
Basil knew how to defend herself, she had been taught to fight with her stave and hands by Father Arnica. Magic to keep herself safe, yes, but until recently she had never been in battle. This was no skirmish, it was a fight for survival, through which she waded -- leveraging her staff over and under against the charging Goblins, flashes of radiant magic burning into her strikes. When her new allies were injured pale blue light healed their aches and ensured they stayed on their feet. Until the goblin guards had all been knocked unconscious or, tragically, horribly, were dead. This, Basil had learned, was the tide of battle. It churned her gut in a ways she could not describe but nonetheless Basil reposed herself and spoke the Blessing for the Dead, as always. Bidding them safe journey to their place of final resting, beseeching the mercy of their gods, and remembering the grief of her weeping master. Until done, she could turn to the service of the living.
"Are you alright?" She asked the woman. Basil's gaze moved from the tall, striking appearance of the woman, to the bear at her side. Shaking himself free of the guts clinging to his fur. Hesitantly, she queried. "Master Halsin, is that ... you?"

⭐️ ― convincing portrayal of a canon character
I can also only speak for characters I actually know the canon of so this one will be more limited
@feudals I've seen some really incredible writing from this blog right here, and I definitely recommend everyone read it <3 the mun is also easy and welcoming to talk to!
@kitxkatrp convinces me with the muses I know and probably always will as I continue to learn more
@peacehunted I will scream about Lucky to the ends of the Earth and I've never even seen Trigun. She's taught me so much about its canon, she took the time to explain to me all the world building, and oh my gosh I love how she writes so much and based on what I've looked up myself it's such an incredible interpretation
@mayhemmaybe How Mimi writes Bonkers is like. my childhood come to life oh my goodness not a single beat is missed when she writes him so well
@unboundbytime I also really love how Amara writes Kagome too <3 And we've come up with so many fun concepts over the time we've known each other (not even just for this blog, but this is the character I'm most familiar with that she writes)
🎙️ ― great to talk to
I'm not describing anyone just listing, otherwise honeybear we will be here ALL DAY.

THAT'S PROBABLY NOT EVEN CLOSE TO EVERYONE but I these are people I've just really clicked with
📌 ― a staple on the dash
Everyone. Period. Everyone I choose to follow is a staple on my dash.
🏆 ― 10/10 blog, would recommend
Once again. EVERYONE. I recommend everyone. Everyone brings creativity, everyone brings their own spin, I'm not choosing one or even multiple. If I follow you, it's because I desperately love reading what you write (and if I don't, you're probably really amazing in every way. But if I followed every single person oh my gosh I'd never keep up with my dash! Remember that I'm not mutuals only <3)

"Just being handsome doesn't earn you a kiss, big guy."
"Doesn't hurt to try, though."
For who knows how long, Koa had been staring at Nabooru from the distance. The red haired woman hadn't been in the Grove for long and had just arrived a few days ago after escaping captivity with Halsin. Naturally, it hadn't taken long for the stranger to pique Koa's curiosity. To be precise, it only took a first glance. But Koa had been too shy to speak to Nabooru and instead bombarded Halsin with one question after the ther, who only encouraged the elfling to go and speak to her herself.
Which Koa, of course, hadn't actually done and had instead been observing her from afar for several days, gathering her courage to speak to the stranger. Then, suddenly, after all that staring, Koa stood beside Nabooru and looked up at her. "You have beautiful hair," Koa complimented, pointing up at the woman's head. "It's so long and red," she added.
Then Koa paused briefly and tilted her head. Her gaze was questioning as she spoke again. "Do you often get your hair tangled up on things? It happens to me all the time…" With that, she quickly shook her head, making her braid, which was so much shorter than Naboorus's, jump left and right.
"Or leaves and twigs always get stuck in it," she chattered on. That was hardly surprising, considering that Koa was always climbing or crawling around everywhere.
