Over excited with our pregnancy news, P & I scheduled for our first HCG blood draw and ultrasound appointment for Jan 16th,2015 at “Cloud Nine hospital”, Malleshwaram, Bangalore. It is a renowned and top notch hospital with great infrastructure, facilities and doctors, equivalent to US standards. If you are planning to visit this hospital, I would recommend the gynecologist “Dr Manjula Raghuveer”. She is a sweet, kind and compassionate doctor who listens to your queries patiently and answers them. She treats you with utmost love, care and respect.
I had my HCG beta blood draw as well as a trans-vaginal ultrasound to confirm that its a viable pregnancy. Please note that spouse will be allowed inside the ultrasound room upon your request. At 7 weeks, the fetus is too small. The radiologist checked for gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole, CRL (crown to rump length of the fetus) and heart beat. She made us hear the heartbeat. It was awesome! Thanks to the amazing technology, it was unbelievably loud and clear!! :)
My results were:
Beta HCG: 54,629
Existence of gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole in the uterus.
Heartbeat: 146 beats/min
Here are some pictures from my 7 week ultrasound:
