I don't mean to offend anyone and idc if you hate getaway (tho I have yet to hear anyone list reasons i personally would like...actually include on the Why Getaway Sucks List, which is weird to me) but can ppl stop saying they can excuse uhhhhhh genocide when comparing him to other villains? Specifically Tyrest, who's not portrayed even a little sympathetically, not redeemed in anyway, and personally tried to commit ethnic cleansing on his own species because he was a violent bigot???? (The guy who actually tortured Getaway and tried to kill him alongside others cold constructed btw, which kinda just adds insult to injury)
#like i have mixed feelings about m.egat.ron on this front too#but massive amounts of killing during war time is something most of them are guilty of and he gets something of an arc#plus most readers may not be familiar with all his crimes#im still extremely uncomfortable with the flippant way pll talk about his hand in mass murder and genocide#but at very least i see why ppl have some emotio al detatchment and vested interest in sympathizing with me.gatr.on#tyrest has none of that#in fact very much the opposite#he should probably be one of the modt hated villains in the series but appearently racially(?) motivated attempted genocide#but appearently racially-motivated attempted genocide doesnt elict that visceral emotional reaction#that manipulating and potentially killing a cute character we knoe does#even if the effects of that genocide involve characters we know and love and we watch it happen#yes im slightly bitter and a little skeeved out#madcap rants#fandom wank#getawank#rkxjdjdjz#tf wank#tf#maccadam#maybe#idk#vague#ish
