I really like the snippets of getaway car and the other stuff that you have shared, the one of Lucas dressing up as Max for a costume party was so cute, a few days ago I found a picture of Max at 5 and I immediately though of Lucas, so I decided to draw him with his costume (You also mentioned that Charles and Lucas moved to France, and I found it funny, because Max won the 2021 Grand Prix in France, in which, depending of the birthday of Lucas, he could’ve been 5 or 6, so I saw it as more of a reason to draw it)
I only finished with his face though, I wanted to ask you about his hair and the costume, while Max has almost always had his hair kind of short, Charles had his hair a lot longer when he was a kid, do you see Lucas having his hair like Max, Charles or in between? With the costume, did they bought a literally a mini copy of Max suit, or is it a “handmade” one, because there are videos where people buy Overall suit and they later add the other stuff, like the logos with T-shirt Transfer paper, with the second one, I imagine Lucas asking his grandmother help to make the costume.
Another thing that I have been thinking about getaway car, is that Gemma or whoever is the press officer is going to be working overtime, because what do you mean one of your drivers has a child that no one knew about, and when it get out to social media it would be kind so chaotic, people calling Max a deadbeat, calling Charles a gold digger, speculating that maybe he isn’t even his son, other people sharing pictures of Lucas, people enraged that his face is being shared, while others users just react with: “It's giving” citing this tweet
I saw that you were not going to finish one degree of separation and I wanted to ask if originally you had in mind to end the fic with endgame lestappen, because you also mentioned leaving everyone alone and unhappy, but I just can’t see max and Charles not getting together after realizing the chemistry that they have. Another thing is, the relationship of Charles and Oscar is public? Because (if the fic takes place in 2025 and lestappen did ended up getting together) imagine you are Oscar Piastri you didn’t just lost the championship after being the one in the lead for a long time (being the winner Lando or Max, doesn’t matter), you also got broken up with your boyfriend, and he is now with the man that you invited to shared the bed with, and while the public doesn’t know that, they still comment stuff like “This really isn’t his year” “Charles got an upgrade” etc. Also, did Lando and Daniel found out of the arrangement that the 3 had? Because taking into account that they joke about the relationship between Charles and Max being more than friendly with Oscar present, the sole idea of Oscar accepting the threesome is idiotic to them. The last thing is, you said that maybe you are putting the smut in ao3 and the angst in tumblr, but why not post both in ao3?

I personally picture Lucas having longer hair, sort of like Charles does as an adult (but not quite as long as when Charles was a kid). The costume was definitely handmade- and it’s so funny since I also imagine little Lucas asking Pascale to help him make it, because at the time there was no way Charles would willingly put him in a Verstappen costume. 😆
And omg, yes, the media storm when people start to pick up on the situation would be so crazy 😭 I wasn’t planning on going into much depth on it in the fic- but your ask is making me want to brave writing a socmed interlude so I can have some people going “that’s just a fan. you all are smoking crack. max verstappen wouldn’t have a secret kid.” And then other people replying with a paparazzi pic and going “are YOU smoking crack? max literally hit copy+paste with this child. be so fr.” And then even more people responding “how DARE you post his face???…(that does indeed look exactly like max)”
One degree of separation was indeed going to end in lestappen endgame- in a very traumatic way for poor Oscar. You’re exactly right that Charles and Max weren’t going to be able to stay away from each other after they realized their chemistry/compatibility- they’d already been interested in each other for years atp, so they really couldn’t hold back anymore.
Luckily, Charles and Oscar’s relationship wasn’t public, but a few fans had suspected so those comments you mentioned would definitely have been made. One heartbreaking aspect of the ending was going to be that Charles had been with Oscar close to a year and never wanted to be public, but then him and Max show up to the paddock hand in hand with mating bites on their necks and engagement rings on their fingers only a few months after getting together 😔 (I told you all I put Piastri through it in this fic)
Hmmm I don’t think Lando and Daniel would ever find out about the threesome until maybe much later. Oscar would be too humiliated to talk about it, and Max and Charles don’t mention it because they know it’s definitely not a good look for them. But if Lando and Daniel ever did find out they’d probably just shake their heads sadly and say “Poor bastard. That was the worst thing you could’ve agreed to. We warned you not to trust Max around Charles.”
Ahhhh, I don’t know about where to post the completed parts of the fic I’m so torn 😭 The smut just seems to graphic to go solely on Tumblr, but the aftermath scenes aren’t finished which is why I don’t want to post them on ao3. I’m still deciding how I want to go about this.
