I'd love to learn more about keeping friendships and relationships in general, how Akaoni Jose and Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya became mutuals, and how their artists draw.

ghost for meridian
ghost: Who or what haunts your OC? What happened? How do they live with their ghosts?
Lots of things! I imagine that's par for the course when you return from a mysteriously disappeared island centuries after the fact... Of course, I can't discuss that all in detail here yet.
But, most notably, Meridian is often haunted by... himself? They understand that they are "different" now, that they are similar to but distinct from the person he was when he died (???) Do they try to be the person they were before? If they do, are they lying? Do they even want to be him?
It's all kind of hard to explain, which is also part of why it's so vexing. They don't really understand how or why this happened (aside from the fact that it probably has to do with their relic, but that's it's own post). The only people who might know are either avoidant or unreachable.
Aside from that, they think about his parents. They've been dead for so long... Did they dissolve back into the universe, or did they reincarnate several times over? Did they know what he did, what happened to him? Were they ashamed? Would they still love them, as they are now?
They're trying to figure out what happened to them, but nothing can be done about the rest. The past can't be changed. All they can do is try not to think too hard about it. They've come to think of the simulacra as their family even moreso than their parents, but not without a lingering sense of guilt.
Sometimes, Meridian imagines that their past self really did go to the afterlife, that he moved on peacefully with the rest of the dead, and that whatever remains is just a simulacrum. Objectively, they think this would be a "good end" for him, but it makes then feel rather ill regardless.
