Refreshing! (afterbirth update #19)

ok, it’s about time i start spoiling one of the biggest features to afterbirth, the new game mode we call _____ ____!.

oh it looks like my keyboard is on the fritz.. so i guess the name is going to have to wait till a later post. this mode is still being tuned and tweaked so i dont want to give out all the details just yet.. but i can start dropping hints and features used in it.

this is a restock box! 

the box will be primarily found in the new game mode.. but can also show up in some of the new *rare* shops in the main game (rare rooms are another new feature ive talked about in the past).

restock boxes will refresh the whole store’s items, restocking any items you may have purchased and rerolling everything else. the chance of restock goes up the more you donate and it’s usually worth it.

so obviously the new game mode has a very large focus on stores, these double wide stores will be a hub of sorts for it... but more on that later.

aside from the new mode, the main game will also put a bit more focus on stores, there is also an in game item called restock that does half of what the restock box can do.

restock can only be found in stores, and when taken will auto restock any items you purchase from it. in the new game mode all characters will start with this item.

in other news.. we have a release date! just working on a few things to get that announcement ready, but once it’s live you will be able to preorder afterbirth for a good % off ;)

on a side note, be on the look out for a new game of mine in the coming days/weeks.

james id (the guy that did all those cool trailers) and i have been working on a really small extremely odd project called “Fingered” for a few months now on the weekends. it started as a just for the hell of it game jam and turned into something we felt worth finishing and im quite proud of how its turned out.

we are keeping things mysterious right now, but i can say that the games core mechanic is random generation, its nothing like isaac or smb and its a murder simulator. 

the game will release on steam for a buck or 2 and upset your mom.
