!! Doll Escapes WIP Purgatory !! (kinda)

It has been 3 years since I started this hybrid project. One abandoned body choice and three scrapped paintjobs later he's done! ... kind of

He still needs some gloss varnish on his eyes and I need to sew his outfit. The outfit of course being pastel stripey pyjamas, because this is Teddy Beddy Bear!

I realise the colours of my doll aren't a perfect match, I was mainly concerned with matching the skin tone of the body I chose to use. I don't mind the colours he came out with though, they're not too far off from some of the officially licensed Teddy Beddy Bear toys.

This doll is a hybrid of a jumbo littlest pet shop deco pet bear and an Imomo Doll 1/6 "Toppa" body, in the "chocolate" skin tone.

Both the use of an Imomo body and the 80s toy theme were inspired by @queenofsquids Poochie and Fluppy dog customs, made using the larger Imomo bodies and modified Shibajuku Girls heads, if I'm remembering correctly. I still hope to try that hybrid eventually, I have a box of Shibajuku Girls in storage for eventual custom projects but their body sculpt has never appealed to me... tangent!

I think that Jiggly Caliente confessional in the background sums it up well enough. This was me supergluing the LPS head to a Liv doll neck peg. I ended up really not liking these proportions after a while, hence the drastic switch.

This picture is from 2024! Much more proportionally sound in my opinion, but I tend to prefer a chunkier doll anyway.

And here's now! I think this doll is my first flocking experiment, which may explain some general messiness, but I think it's quite a cute look!

I'm still debating giving him a little forelock like he often has in the official toy versions. Not quite sure yet.. maybe this is a decision for after he has his little hat.

she is a Volks Mini Dollfie Dream, Mochi-ashi 2.0 with DDH-06 head in Flesh.

her top and skirt were purchased from the dealer’s goods section in Doll Point Akihabara. socks and shoes are from Volks’ official lineup.

the eyes and wig are from DOLLCE in Akiba, and both are handmade. her pigtail buns are magnetically attached!

faceup is by me, though I’m not in love with it. I can still picture her with a different head painted by a professional. maybe I’m just overused to the sculpt, since it was Galaxia’s for a long time.

I would love a cute set of nails for her, but my favorite overseas artists seem to work with Semi-White Skin almost exclusively. 🥺

Ok! Actually! I like being employed because it means I can dress my dolls in lovely little clothes! I love this set, it was such a steal. It has that vibe that I can't really pinpoint but it gives soft 2000s fashion.
