Senpai wasn’t really talking to the other at first. He was actually bickering with GF on the phone but the way he was talking might have made it seem like he was talking to the other so when Ted have gave a retort to one of Senpai’s rather questionable insults, the older boy promptly hung up the phone and gave the other an apologetic smile. “Apologies. I wasn’t referring to your hair. Your hair is actually quite nice. It looks similar to mine. Same part and everything. I was talking to an annoying friend of mine.”
He kneeled down to somewhat match the height of the other and gave him a brighter, more cheerful, smile. “No need to apologize. There was a bit of a breeze today so I’m sure my hair isn’t the neatest but messy looks are totally in in the fashion world so I’m not too concerned.”
“Actually you look like we could be related. Same eyes and hair color. How cute. You are like a miny me. I don’t really know my name. Everyone just calls me Senpai but I don’t think I want a child calling me that so you can call me whatever you’d like!”
Oh. So it turned out this guy wasn’t even talking to Ted in the first place, but he was glad he hadn’t just made a total fool of himself by saying all that weird stuff that he wished he hadn’t said. Or maybe this guy was just being really really really nice to Ted to save him from the embarrassment. The poor kid might as well looked ready to just die on the spot ‘cause of his regret.
Good thing there seemed to be no need to do that, with how nice the older boy was being. “ Oh! Well thank you, I’m glad you like my hair! ” Ted replied with a smile back at him, still a little nervous but glad he wasn’t being yelled at nonetheless.
——— “ Really? ” Ted giggled. The thought of being related to Senpai sounded... kinda cool. Part of him preferred him to Felix. Senpai was just really kind so far, way more than his own twin brother usually ever was.
Though, it did confuse him a little that Senpai seemed to not even know his own name. “ Uhmmm... Well, I don’t really know what to call you either then! I do have a twin brother-- his name’s Felix, but it’d be kinda weird calling you that... By the way, my name’s Ted! It’s really nice to meetcha! ”
