Understanding Self Harm and Seeking Help
Cuts and bruises for some users are a coping mechanism used in the same way as taking drugs which involves purposeful harming of the body. Therefore although self harm does not always mean suicidal intent it is associated with it and with increased risk of significant self harm. Someone who self-harms may be stressed and does not have productive tools for addressing those feelings. There is the need to assist affected persons and also to ask for help as well.
At TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track, if such a situation is found with someone, please contact someone you trust or sort out a professional help for a curing path.
