“Finally - Real Remoteness in Alaska!” Review of Alaska Trophy Adventures Lodge “I have fished in Alaska for the past 35 years. Last summer was my first trip to ATA Lodge. I their last week of the season, September 9 to 16. The the fishing was great, the facilities were awesome, the food was delightful, and the crew and guides were professional and attentive. But... you can get all of that at any number of Alaskan fishing lodges. What separates ATA from the rest is it's remoteness. I used to think that one needed to fly in a floatplane to reach a remote fishing location, and years ago that might have been true. Now days, the fact of the matter is that if your pilot/guide can land and take you fishing... then, unless the location is private or permitted anyone else can do the same. Some rivers in Alaska can be really crowded! The multitude of braids and channels of the upper Alagnak River, where ATA is located precludes floatplanes... the only way to fish it is by boat, from the lodge - or to float down from one of the two lakes that create the river - which rarely happens. During the past 35 seasons in Alaska... I've rarely felt as remote as I did just a short boat trip from ATA lodge. Wayne McGee, and his family and crew offer a wonderful experience, in a truly remote Alaska setting. I highly recommend Alaska Trophy Adventure's Lodge! I received a message from a follower that humbled me and gave me plenty to think about. She said... “I don’t really do the whole following influencers thing. I don’t consider myself an “influencer” so her characterization of me as one was surprising. I was happy that she felt I was “real.” Authenticity is important to me.
