Kurt was warm, fed, and exhausted. He was bundled up and laying in a soft bed, but he couldn’t fall asleep. His mind was still reeling from everything that had happened in the last couple of hours.
Was he really back or was this a trick?
Kurt had been away so long that he’d started to accept he would never return. Now he was back and he wasn’t sure who he was. He had two sets of memories, both of them conflicting in how his life played out. One was substantially longer and more violent, but also full of more love than the other.
Who was he now?
Kurt squeezed the rosary he held a little tighter, letting its presence help. His thoughts drifted over several things before resting again on Raven. He called her another name there. He wasn’t sure if it was similar here. He wanted to ask, but he didn’t know how, especially not in front of Anna.
Kurt heard movement in the hallway and saw someone peeking into his room. He shifted so that they would know he was awake. “You can come in,” he whispered. “I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep for a long while,” he admitted.
