Getting Drinks || Rumple and Archie

He looked over at the man, very startled. “You want to buy me a drink?” he asked. No one ever wanted to get him anything. “Well if you’re sure, I won’t say no.”

“Yes, I’m sure.” Now that Belle had tipped him off that Rumple was lonely, he could correctly interpret his more dismissive attitudes not as signals that he wanted to be left alone, but as part of his defense mechanisms that hopefully, they’d be able to get through. He wasn’t doing this as a psychiatrist, though, despite what some might think. Everyone deserved a friend. “Would you prefer to go to the Rabbit Hole, or Granny’s? Both have good selections.” The Rabbit Hole had better alcohol, but Granny’s had much better non-alcoholic drinks. It really depended on what Gold was in the mood for.

Last night's date?

With the presumably classy, educated guy?  It went splendidly.  (Turns out he actually is classy and educated.)  It also lasted for three and a half hours.  We talked about everything.  There were multiple times where I thought, "oh geeze, I'm talking this poor guy's ear off!" or "I should probably let him go and I can meet up with my friends."  But it just kept going.  And it was great.  The perfect blend of excitement and comfort.  (I also tried mussels for the first time ever, which is a pretty big deal for those of you who know me and my fear of underwater creatures.)  And I paid.  He went to the restroom at one point, and the server brought the check and I covered it.  The guy came back, the server brought back the little black thing, the guy made a grab for it, and I told him I already had it covered and he could get the next one.  He was shocked.  It was great.  (I was incredibly pleased with myself.)

And then the date was over and I was super anxious, wanting another.  And there is another.  Tonight.  Dinner at his place.  So two dates, two nights in a row.  And date two involves him cooking dinner for me.  Looks like we both think this has some potential.  Excellent.
