Everyone knew the best and brightest shone after the worse storm.
And she was the most vibrant of them all.

Chapter 1. - Intro.
It starts with a soft breeze, a warning of something more. So gentle at first you don’t notice it. Then comes that humidity. As if the whole world is holding its breath. The clouds building up, the tension so thick you choke on it in the air. Pressure, pushing on you until… The world breaks above you. The storm comes. Loud and all-consuming. Sweeping you up in its dark clouds and loud thunder. Rain so hard and fast pelting down on the world, not like tears but like bullets. And when you think it will never end it breaks. When you wonder if that storm will destroy your whole world it ends. And there it is. The most beautiful rainbow you have ever seen. And you know there is hope.
Beginning.

But now she fits in, now she’s excited
Meets Regulus Black
He’s shy and moody but Lola’s thinks it’s because he’s lonely sitting alone

Regulus gets sorted into Slytherin
Lola’s thoughts on Slytherin, kind of hopes she’s in that house because of Regulus but also doesn’t think she would fit in.
Lola gets sorted into Hufflepuff
Hat suggests Ravenclaw, but Lola wants to be in a house where she can make friends so she goes into Hufflepuff.
Regulus watched her as she walked into her house, she flashed him a smile as she joined her new house. Giving him a small wave which he tried to ignore.
“Hey why is that Hufflepuff waving at you?” one of his upperclassmen asked.
“We were on the train together.”
“Whatever, welcome to your real friends,” the classman said slinging an arm over his shoulder.

They have some cute little conversation where he tried to ignore her but also finds her… refreshing,
But the world was getting tenser.
And he knew what his kind thought of her kind

Regulus clutches his wand in anger but doesn’t do anything

Bits of them growing up having cute moments
They were “like” friends
Like friends. Never admitting they were friends but they always kept an eye on the other
Always noticing them, feel their presence when they walked into a room
Pulled together like magnets, a pull that was unexplainable. A force of nature.

Regulus watches, wishing he could be part of that world and not the dark one he lives in. His world was filled with so much hate and anger.
What he wouldn’t give to just make that girl laugh so hard she snorted again, like on the train.
Year 5
She gets bullied and he protects her
She asks him why
“You’ve basically been ignoring me since I was placed in Hufflepuff, I know what your friends call me.”
“They aren’t my friends, I don't’ have friends.”
“Everyone should have friends.”
They become actual friends
Not a lot changes because he wants to protect her
“I don’t care what they think of me!” “It’s not what they think, it’s what they could do.”
Friendship builds
Bits of that friends to lovers stuff.
Kiss
“I don’t want to be your friend anymore.”
“Oh,” she knew why, because of who she was. What she had been born as. Because of what his family would think. Because… He surprises her by kissing her.
Relationship stuff
Them hiding their relationship, when they were alone they were in a bubble. But the real world seemed so much bigger swallow them.
Regulus talks to her about her brother always causing trouble.
Tension builds
Houses hate and people go missing
Lola’s best friend goes missing presumed dead
Regulus tries to make her run
She wants to stay with him
They kiss - Sirius finds them
Sirius warns his brother about his relationship
Regulus get’s mad because his brother never took an interest in him
What did he know
Lola and Regulus have a long about their futures and what they want to do with there lives. How their perfect future would look

As he dies he sees her face, she kneels down taking his hand. She was so bright and beautiful.
