hiii! could you please write a regulus black x potter! reader? maybe something like reg and reader secretly going out and getting discovered by James?
thank you!! have an amazing day 💗💗
his muse (pt. one)
regulus black x reader
fluff / angst
cw: unedited as always 😌, a sex joke but it’s a titanic reference lol, marauders being overprotective, kissing, cuddling, someone may threaten to pull out someone’s teeth and put them on a necklace (it seemed like a very regulus threat), artist!regulus because 🥰
summary: you’re the honorary little sister of the infamous marauders; what happens when they catch you with a certain someone?
notes: hey love, thank you so much for the request!! just so you know, i don’t like to write readers to be related to another character, because i want my readers be able to relate to the ‘reader character’ without altering their preferred fancast for another one based on things like race or ethnicity. that is totally on me for not putting that in my request post and i will do that asap, but i hope you enjoy this anyway <33
more notes: i did get just a tad bit carried away and decided to divide this request into two parts, just to make it less overwhelming for me and y’all as well. anyways, enjoy <333
“oh reggie, paint me like one of your french girls,” you giggled, draping yourself dramatically across regulus’ pristine sheets.
he looked up from his sketchbook, brow furrowed in a way that made you want to kiss him until you both passed out from lack of oxygen.
god, you loved him.
“what?” he asked.
“nothing.”
evan and barty had both left the slytherin dorms, off to some place or another, giving you the perfect opportunity for some alone time with your lovely boyfriend. you’ve made sure to do this at least once a week since you started dating in your fourth year. now that you’ve reached sixth year, the tradition had only grown more cherished; precious were the moments spent with someone you’d been otherwise forbidden to see.
“he’s dangerous, (y/n),” sirius insisted, only just finished with his dramatic act of fake vomiting. you had made the grave mistake of assuming your friend would have a normal reaction upon hearing who had asked you to the yule ball.
“a slytherin, (y/n), how could you?” james moaned, collapsing onto the auto-man like he was faint in the heart. “you have been my little sister all my life—”
“you met me when you were twelve and we are not related,” you corrected.
james feigned offense. “how dare you question our bond? blood does not matter! we are family and that is that, young lady.”
“leave her alone, the both of you,” remus laughed, throwing an arm over your shoulder and pulling you to his chest. “our little girl had to grow up someday.”
sirius looked appalled. “not with my bastard, slimy, death eater of a brother—”
“he’s not a death eater, we’re fourteen!” you exclaimed, pouting dramatically at the older boy. “just one dance, i promise padfoot, if it’s that weird to you, i’ll never see him again.”
you lied.
sunlight peaked in through the curtains, the golden rays hitting regulus in such a way that made him look angelic. so focused on his sketchbook, glancing up every few moments to gaze at you like you were something to be revered.
you sat up in his bed, fiddling with the hem of his sweater that lay around your mid thighs; though you loved to, you rarely got the opportunity to wear reggie’s clothes, given sirius would recognize them in an instant. so, you took advantage of these moments whenever they came your way.
you loved wrapping yourself in the soft, strong, warm smell of him: minty cologne, sea salt, and pine trees. the scent was practically woven in the fabric, making everything feel so much softer, so much more him.
you did have a couple shirts and sweaters you’d stolen over the years, but they remained in your dorm at all times.
well, mostly.
it was a moment of stupidity. a dreary saturday morning, a hogsmeade trip, and you had slept in. naturally, you had to rush out of your dorm to get to breakfast in time; but, you didn’t need to change, did you?
why not wear the sweater you had slept in and save yourself a little time?
so, after changing into more appropriate pants, you made your way down the breakfast and sat in your regular spot; in between remus and james, and smack dab across from sirius.
he noticed his brothers favorite sweater the second you sat down.
“what’s that?”
you’d barely sat down by the time sirius spoke and continued making your morning coffee as the group grew silent around you. finally looking up, you glanced between your friends in confusion.
“what’s what?”
you lifted your sleeve to rub your nose, breathing in quickly through your stuffed up sinuses; stupid fall allergies.
you froze as the familiar sent cooled your insides, eyes darting over to the slytherin table across the great hall.
oh.
that’s ‘what’s what’.
“who’s jumper is that, (y/n)?” james asked, arm draping over your shoulders to tug the sleeve on the other side. “doesn’t look like one of mine—”
“or mine,” sirius chimed.
“or mine,” peter chirped, though you hardly stole borrowed his sweaters anyways (too scratchy).
“it’s mine!”
you were surprised to hear remus’ leap to your defense, as you knew damn well the sweater wrapped around you wasn’t his— still, you weren’t about to question it.
“mhm,” you hummed, taking a sip of your coffee, hoping the boys didn’t notice your shaking hands. “i don’t know what that third degree was about, but i stole this from moony a month ago.”
“what’re you thinking about, lovely?”
regulus was suddenly just inches away from you, sketchbook tossed to the side, instead opting to look at his muse more close up.
“nothing,” you mumbled, smiling as he dipped down to kiss your collarbone, working his way up to your lips with featherlight kisses that made you wish you could stay with him forever.
though at this point, everything he did made you wish you could stay with him forever.
“you’re beautiful,” he whispered, eyes scanning every curve and point of your face like a work of art; his work of art, his muse.
he’ll never get tired of that word.
you breathed in deeply, the smell of him practically making you glow like some sort of protection charm; you’d never felt safer than you did with regulus near. you felt untouchable with him, like nothing could ever hurt you.
“what are you doing here?”
lovely.
a grating voice to disrupt your terrible day.
“hey,” severus called. “i’m talking to you.”
you spun around, glaring at the greasy haired boy across from you with as much contempt at you could muster. “piss off, severus!” you shouted; you’d never bit back like this before, but the shocked look on his face was worth it. “really, cornering a younger student in an empty hallway? pretty cowardly, don’t you think?”
before you could debate the consequences of your actions, severus’ hand was gripping your cloaks and you were shoved up against the wall.
“you filthy little—”
just as quick as snapes hands were on you, they’d been torn off, and you scrunched to the ground. regulus shoved him up to the wall opposite you.
“defending your little mudblood, huh?”
“shut your filthy mouth about her or i swear on merlins grave, i will rip every single one of your teeth out and put them on a necklace like a string of fucking pearls,” regulus bit, baring his teeth, an emphasis to the threat. “you got that?”
that night, you ended up in a very similar position to where you were in now; wrapped up in your lovely boyfriends sweater, curled in his arms, and having sweet nothings whispered in your ear.
“y’know, i mean it when i say you are beautiful,” he muttered, pressing a kiss to your temple as he spoke, breath fanning over your face. it tickled, but you didn’t care; you just wanted to hear his voice. “breathtakingly gorgeous, inside and out.”
“really?” you teased, nuzzling your nose further into his chest, arms wrapped around his torso.
“really,” he laughed. “i could stay like this forever.”
you pouted, pulling yourself half on top of him. “but my daft friends just have to get in the way, don’t they?”

_________
13 Years Later…
“I can’t believe this is happening.”
Regulus’ voice pulled you from your thoughts. In the silent darkness of the bedroom, you were thankful that he couldn’t see the expression on your face. You had been staring off for sometime and didn't want Regulus to see the worry.
“I know.”
The words leaving your mouth weren’t your own but were instead somehow forced from your lips. You were on autopilot. That was the best thing that you could say.
In the course of one afternoon, the quiet comfortable life that Regulus and yourself had created was wiped away. Everything started with Abigail's letter saying she had met her father. It took all that you had not to panic when you read the words “I met Sirius.”
“Y/n?”
Regulus once again pulled you from your thoughts. You cleared your throat anxiously.
“I’m listening.”
You half whispered. Regulus turned to get a better look at you in the moonlight. He didn’t want to say it but you looked lost and confused. This both worried and angered Regulus. In the past 13 years, you had healed from the place that you were. You weren’t worried about not being a good “mother” to Abby…you became a wonderful mother.
There was also the topic of James and Lily. They had died. Your older brother was dead and Albus Dumbledore, in all his eternal knowledge, decided that you weren’t fit to raise Harry. He determined that fucking Vernon and Petunia Dursley were a better fit.
“It's better to keep him away from everything in our world…until he is ready.”
Regulus had to haul you out of the room screaming at Dumbledore. You were so furious that he didn’t find you to be “worthy” to raise your nephew. It didn’t matter that both Regulus and yourself would be a perfect fit. In Dumbledore’s eyes, you weren’t and you would never forgive him for this.
Luckily, in time, Abigail made friends with Harry in school and you finally were able to form a relationship with your nephew. Regulus was thankful to see you happy. Seeing you smile every time you looked at Harry made all of the years of “pain” slightly more manageable.
You were healing and Regulus was thankful for that. Now, everything was once again derailed by one letter about Sirius finding Abby. Chaos was once again consuming Regulus’ peaceful life and he wasn’t sure how to navigate things now.
“You are lost in your head. Darling, since Sirius broke out of Azkaban we expected him to find us…to find Abby.”
Regulus reached out to cup your cheek. You snuggled into your husband’s hand enjoying the moment of comfort. Even in your darkest moments, feeling Regulus’ skin on yours was enough to provide you some relief.
“I know that, Reg. It's not only that… it's everything. It's everything that life has dealt us. This war. James and Lily turning their back on me. Them dying. Us not being able to have Harry. Sirius getting locked up…now this war again.”
You were quiet for a moment before sitting up and drawing your knees to your chest.
“Now the life that we have made is being destroyed. Sirius is free and you know that he will want to be involved with Abby. Granted, she is technically his daughter but we have raised her…I probably sounds super selfish.”
Regulus was silent a moment before sitting up and kissing your bare shoulder.
“Whether she’s technically his daughter or not, she is our daughter.”
You turned and climbed onto Regulus’ lap and snuggled your face into his shoulder. Regulus’ words made you feel somewhat better. Abby would always be your daughter whether or not she was Sirius’. One meeting couldn’t erase 13 years of love and care that you had created.
“Yes, she is.”
Regulus kissed your head once more before leaning his head back against the wall. While the silence once again consumed the room, Regulus thought back on the past 13 years. The two of you had put so much love and care into raising Abby. His mind was consumed by memories of her first steps, her first words…everything that a father should remember.
…A father….
Regulus sighed at the thought of that word. It was the one word that Abby never said. From the time that Regulus had taken Abby in he had always been 100% honest with her. The two of you decided that while raising her as “your” child it would be best to let her know where she actually came from. She deserved that.
Abby always seemed to be at peace with the information that she was given…until she learned what Sirius was locked up for. Regulus closed his eyes as he thought about that conversation.
“Do you think that he actually did it…killed that man and those muggles?”
Abby asked the night news of Sirius’ escape was announced. Regulus looked up from the book that he had been reading. Looking at his niece, made Regulus' heartache. While she looked like Sirius, she acted more like Regulus. She normally didn’t ask questions that would result in some kind of emotional response. Abby dealt with things with the same quiet sarcastic edge that Regulus did.
Regulus closed his book and scooted to the edge of his chair while you looked.
“No, I really don’t Your father is a lot of things but a cold-blooded killer who would rat out his friends isn’t one of them. Do you want to talk about what you’re feeling?”
Abby shook her head and moved to look out the window.
Regulus pulled himself from his thoughts and looked down at your face. You had fallen asleep on his shoulder. He sighed before gently moving to scoot back into bed further.
The next day things would change once more. The Order was getting back together and this time Regulus was in. This time Regulus wouldn’t be on the side that he never should have been in on in the first place. You were the reason for that. Regulus did not want to disappoint the one woman that meant the world to him.
There was also the fact Regulus would meet his brother face-to-face for the first time in 13 years. Regulus would have to face Sirius and see how his elder brother’s presence would “change” things. Would Sirius come in and expect that he would take over raising Abby?
He wasn’t about to step back and let Sirius take over everything that he worked so hard for. Regulus had spent 13 years creating a “perfect little family” with you and nothing would change that. He would be a dead man before that happened.
Regulus also thought about you. Part of Regulus always worried that you still loved Sirius. He was, after all, your first boyfriend. That was the first love that was always supposed to be special, right? Regulus couldn't answer that question as you were his first love. It didn’t matter how much you reassured him that he was your favorite and he was the one that you loved…Regulus was still worried. While he was arrogant and vain in many ways, when it came to you…things were different. Part of Regulus was the shy quiet boy that was convinced that no one would actually love him.
I’m being dramatic. Y/n loves me.
Regulus repeated this in his head multiple times hoping that he would 100% believe it.
She never would have married you and left her family if she didn’t love you.
That comment felt like common sense. If you didn’t love Regulus, you would have never let your family just “throw you out” the way they did.
Thinking of James and Lily’s out-of-character abandonment of you still made Regulus’ blood boil. If James was any kind of brother, he would have sucked up his dislike of Regulus and the Black family to make you happy.
“It's going to be alright, Reggie.”
Your voice pulled Regulus from his thoughts. He gave you a smile before tilting your face to his for a kiss.
“You’re always my favorite.”
Regulus whispered. You gave him a gentle smile before reaching up to twist his curls around your finger.
“You’re my favorite too.”
You said before drifting off to sleep. Regulus relaxed into your touch. Anytime that you got your hand on his hair, Regulus turned into putty. You always knew how to relax him. His rather negative thoughts seemed to vanish as your thigh moved up over his hip.
Hey! Can I request a Regulus x reader where both of them come from abusive families, and the reader had learned some healer skills to help herself go through everything at home, and one day she insists on helping Regulus and he falls for the way she cares and helps others? Sorry if that’s oddly specific or too much to ask 💚
hi boo! I hope you enjoy this fic :)
healing hearts // regulus black x f!reader
As your eyes fluttered open you wondered if for once they’d gone to far in their anger, if for once they didn’t hold back, but instead all you were met with was the black and blue that you’d have to spend your morning covering up. If this had been your reality when you were first starting school, maybe you would have been more accepting, wouldn’t have fought back, but you knew now that love- real, true love- doesn’t crack ribs or break arms. It heals wounds, cares when there is sadness, fights for happiness- what you lived with was nothing close to love.
They knew that you could heal your wounds, that there was no need to hide behind the glamour spells, but if it helped make them look good, they didn’t care.
A grunt escaped you as you heard your mother screaming at you to hurry up, “The Blacks will be expecting us soon!” And as you got closer to her, she didn’t care that she pierced your skin with her nails, “and you better not mess up.”
You looked like a porcelain doll on the outside, but under everything you were cracked and chipped and the only reason you swallowed down every mumble that wanted to leave your lips was because you knew that the second you stepped into the Black household you’d be able to see Regulus again.
As the parents got lost in their world, you found yourself following Kreacher up the staircase until you reached a familiar door. You knew the damage that waited for you, the pieces that you would have to pick up and put back together.
“Reg,” you whispered softly, as you entered the blacked out room.
No noise met you in return, the only thing informing you that Regulus was very much alive was the shivering of a black mound that you knew was Regulus hiding under his covers.
You reached him slowly, whispering tenderly as he did so, letting your fingers brush over every part of him softly, caress every bruise and ache and have it feel love, “Let me take care of you.”
He revealed himself only to you. Stripped himself of every barrier, of every misconception or belief he had of himself, and let himself be filled with only your love and your healing. Even as he broke down in your arms, not even capable of taking in a coherent breath, you still cared for him, stayed with him.
Even when you were in pain, healing your own wounds, you took Regulus in your hands and showed him what it meant to love, to really love. And one day, when the two of you woke up, it was no longer to the aches and pains of your parents’ ideas of love but instead waking up to the hands of the person who healed the other.

@werewitchling : Would you every write something for regulus black? Like a possible mutual pining one but neither know its mutual, regulus knows that his family would never accept them even if it was to happen as the reader is like lily (passionate, outspoken, and yet very compassionate), and just angsty longing for there to have been a 'them'?
Fandom: Harry Potter
Summary: She was his light in the black
Pairing: Regulus Black x Reader
Notes: I went a little… dark. I’m sorry.
You never thought much about being a muggle born. Sure kids pointed it out, and there was definitely a strong sense of pride among those who were pureblood. But those kids were always stuck up so why did it matter what they thought anyway?
Nope, you didn’t really think much of your parents' unmagical abilities.
That was until he came into your life.
Regulus Black.
From the Black family. That family. The one family in the whole school that cares about bloodlines.
Not that you had thought about it when you first met him. You honestly didn’t even know who he was other than the boy that had taken the book you had been struggling to get.
“Uhhh excuse me,” you said. But he walked past you face still buried in the other book he was reading as he flicked his wand pulling a few more books from the shelves. “Hello! Scruffy with the wand!” you snapped earning several shhhh from fellow students and staff.
Glancing up he looked over his shoulder confused. Of course, he was Slytherin. They always acted like they owned everything.
“I was.... I wanted that book,” you said pointing to the floating book.
“Oh? But this is a 5th-year spell book” he said sizing you up, clearly at least a year younger than him.
“Yes, and despite the age difference there was a spell in there I wanted to look over, so, would you mind?” you asked holding your hand out.
“I need it for a test tomorrow.”
“Well I’m good at sharing?” you offered already knowing the answer
“Sure” he shrugged surprising you.
She was his laughter. The one who drove him to be a better person. Was it cliche to say she was the light in his darkness (or blackness if we are going there). But it was true. Before her, Regulus felt like his life was a spinning ball of constant nothing. Just a day upon day of the same.
Sometimes he would see his brother running around the school. So full of life and adventure. Yet here he was. Stuck in the same rut.
That was until she came into his life.
All she had done was shout at him to stop. To hand over that book. He had never been talked to like that before. Most people would just let him be on his way. Never bothering to challenge him. Not one of the great Blacks. But she didn’t know who he was. Even after they spent the day studying together.
And she never asked.
It was as if the world where titles and bloodlines meant more than anything else didn’t exist. To her, it was about experiencing the magic of Hogwarts. It wasn’t about just passing her classes and making her teachers happy. It was about what skills would benefit her. What seemed cool that day.
He would never forget that day when she completed the spell. Rainbow bubbles that would sing. It was just some silly spell but when she got it to work it was as if she had learned how to create gold.
And it was as if his dull world was filled with the same color.
Pure, she was too pure. Untouched by the world around them. Whether it was her closing her ears to the prejudice around them or just her true ignorance he found he beautiful.
So beautiful that he knew he could never soil that purity.
So he spent his life trying to prove he was good enough for her.
Just as vividly as the day you remembered your first-day meeting Regulus you remember the last day you did.
The world was crumbling around you and no matter how much you tried to pretend it wasn’t the predigest was running rampant.
You knew it could never work, which you had never admitted it to him or even yourself.
But you had fallen in love with him.
It had been all the little things. Like him making sure to stop by your class on the way to his. Saving you slice of your favorite pie on Fridays when you were running late to lunch because of your potions class. The way his eyes would crinkle around the edges when he smiled.
It all mad you sick to your stomach. Because you knew you could never tell him. Because of his status as a Black he would never be able to have feelings for you. So why jeopardize what you felt?
So you buried it away.
That was until your last day.
With the war at the very gates of Hogwarts, you're parents decided it was best if they left for America. Your father had found a job in some middle state where the likes of Voldermort and his lackeys couldn't find you. A few smugglers had offered to help you escape. You couldn’t tell anyone, but you couldn't leave. Not yet
Not with this hanging over your head.
“I’m leaving tomorrow. My family…” you paused looking away. Both of you hiding in a secret room you had found a year ago. Regulus’s eyes grew wide as you tried to explain yourself. As if panic was setting into him.
“But for how long, but…”
“I can’t protect them here. I’m just putting them in danger.” you smiled weakly at him, “this is bigger than me… or anyone here.”
He looked away for a moment, for a moment you thought you saw tears. Your heart lurched. Could he? No, you couldn’t make this any harder on yourself than it already was. Gently you took his hands in your own.
“I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone but… Regulus, your one of my best friends… and… I just wish things were different.”
“They will be,” he said giving your hands a squeeze, “I promise, they will be and I will see you again.”
She left.
The one beautiful thing in his world.
She left.
He knew what he had to do. He had to end this war. He had to bring her home.
Bring her back.
It was a mantra in his head. Over and over. She left, bring her back.
Over and over as he buried himself in the Deatheater’s.
Over and over while he helped Dumbledore find the Horcruxes.
Over and over as he drew his last breath.
She left, bring her back.
Bring back his light.
I don’t really have a Harry Potter tag list :P so let me know if you want me to tag you
