In November we teamed up with Vinspired - the U.K's leading youth volunteering charity as part of their #Get Trashed campaign. To launch their initiative to save fashion from landfill the first 'Car Boot Disco' was held at the Ministry of Sound in London. This free event was organised to encourage young people (16-24yrs) to swap, customise or recycle their unwanted clothing. With a soundtrack provided by KISS FM dj's, a raffle of celebrity donations and an exciting rosta of fashion hackers the event promised to brighten up a gloomy Sunday afternoon. There were 4 customising areas offering; airbrushing, screen printing 'spangling' and studding. Our 'Punk Couture' styling made use of studding, safety pins and chains, embellishing collars, pockets and cuffs with motifs. A popular hack amongst Trashers was adding studding to prints by creative community People of Print.
