Exhibiting TwoCan at the GFHEU 2014
The 2014 edition of the Games for Health Europe conference was the second time I visited the event and this time I was not only there to exhibit one of the games I worked on.. I exhibited no less than two games!
One of those games was TwoCan, a game made by five people during the Games[4Health] Jam 2014. We had less than 24 hours to design, develop and present a game that shows how therapy compliance amongst clients with psychiatric disorders can benefit from games.
TwoCan is all about delve into the boundaries of intimicy and physically exploring each other’s comfort-zone. The game was made for people that experience problems with intimacy and (physical) social interaction, mostly in the context of their own family. The key element of TwoCan is the use of the Pillo controller, which makes it tangible!
Between the keynote sessions a lot of people, ranging from health care workers to investors and of course fellow game developers, showed interest and provided us with very interesting and helpful feedback. We even got a few creative minds showing us new poses to hold the Pillo controllers!
No one was hurt during the making of that play session.
We learned a lot from the sessions and the feedback people gave us, which we will use to further develop the game over a period of three months.
I would like to thank Pillo Games for providing us with two Pillo controllers during the Games for Health Europe conference.
