astarion is a sloppy feeder. and when dealing with thinking creatures, frighteningly, test his self-control. he has very little restraint when allowed to drink from his companions.
as astarion grows closer to people, he will volunteer this information if prompted with the offer of feeding on someone. he understands, that from their perspective, it might be frightening for them when he grips them a little too hard, or instead of a sip, gorges himself. he doesn't want that; not for himself or for his friends.
