#the way his eyes trail up her is like. this intense mix of betrayal and nostalgia#like he's not checking her out. he ISNT. but his eyes also move slow enough that he isnt just checking for a wire#like he's REMEMBERING everything they've shared#and he's upset that this is where they are now#THIS is the only way he gets to see her now??#naked of clothes but covered in lies and betrayal?#whew. - im crying and LOVE THIS

A LOT WAS HAPPENING THAT SCENE OKAY

but for real i like how we all are essentially making the same tags on that post. because the way he was looking at her was SO MUCH. and because manny played it perfectly. it wasn’t gross and sexualized. but it wasn’t clinical either. he did a PHENOMENAL job. and the way beth was looking back at him—not like she felt put on display, but like she was scared he was going to find the truth even in the absence of the wire? perfection! christina and manny really did such a great job with that scene.

still thinking about the juxtaposition of stan/ruby and beth/dean in that episode: 

the way that ruby worried for all of a day that stan was cheating on her (and only because of mick’s influence lbr) before just coming right out and saying it and then her and stan immediately had an honest conversation about it. 

vs

the way that dean has absolutely NO idea what’s going on between beth and rio. dean is in PRISON because of beth working with rio and they STILL can’t have an honest conversation about it. dean still thinks that beth is sleeping with rio, despite the fact that beth has been trying to orchestrate his downfall (via the hitman and now the secret service) for quite some time. and dean thinks this because beth won’t tell him! she won’t tell him the truth! because there is no honesty in their relationship, there’s no trust or transparency. there’s only rose-colored glasses for gazing into the past.
