Disapointed

Episode 38 of “gegege no kitaro” 2018 series is out....

I never felt so disapointed and disgusted like when watching this episode, especially how i completly watched the older series, especially the 2007.

I understand they tried to show one of the ugly sides of people, show a new yokai and also show some sides of the characters but....

Heavy sigh, pinching nose

I’ll start from the beggining and try to be brief:

- They showed Mana, the human friend and character, more dumber than she was on the start of the series, which she was not supposed to. She felt like an object that someone put there. At the start of the episode she felt like a blank, basic female anime chaarcter and then she pulls a “one punch” kinda thing out of her ass. wtf. At this point, my respect for her is going down the drain...I just want to know what is she to Nanashi(the main villain of this series) because....Yumeko(human friend in 80′s gggnk) and Makoto Washio(2007 ggnk) were so much more interesting than this piece of walking flesh.

- Kasha.....in the first episodes....they would tell us who the fuck and what the fuck the yokai would do, normally in detail, here? They just throw us a “he eats corpses and mochi” done. And they show us an old Kasha. I mean, that’s ok, i guess, it shows how yokai can also get old.....but do they tell us his origins??? Do they tell us what the hell is a Kasha? Aside from a yokai that steals and eats corpses and mochi? Nope, they dont! - And for your information, A kasha is a yokai born from a cat, just like a cat can get old enough to become a Nekomata(cat with two tails) and/or Neko-Shô(cat with three tails); one of these can also become a Kasha if let get enough experience and years in itself, starting by stealing corpses from funerals and eating them.

- Please....please... dont make me start talking on this version’s Nezumi-Otoko/Rat-man....I never felt more disgusted by a character’s greed and making all its possible and impossible to get money out of a situation....his whole character made me sick....especially with this new episode. Rat-man is usually that character that’s comedic, greedy and a bit traitorous, but even so he continues to be a good person, never forgetting his friends, always with limits and control to his greed and with the secret goal of finally be recognized as someone important and seen by the others. Even Hakaba Rat-man wasnt completly bad, as he tried to save Kitaro in episode 13 from ‘Johnny in the Mist’. This one? omg.....i literally felt sick....

- Toei again left themselves get bad at the animation and style, forgetting the character’s designs and proportions. It wasnt as bad as in ‘Sailor Moon Crystal’ season 1 but....it was bad. Kitaro’s design and proportions were completly irregular, sometims shown with a bigger head or longer arms, or bigger than the other characters; Neko-musume/Cat-Chick’s eyes were also irregular and always bad drawn, her legs always wrong in terms of proportion and no love to her figure in the background; the preview showed scenes that didnt appear in the episode, not to mention the way they showed animation was completly out of place. They did show us a better image at the end but i dont know what made them lack so much in quality, be it in animation and plot.

Sorry for the rant guys, but this have been eating me alive ever since i watched the latest episode.

I have so much to rant about this new series, especially how they showed us the “Western yokai”(Agnes, Adele, dracula, frankestein and specially Backbeard) but i dont really wanna do it here....Ill try to make a video making a comparation of the two last anime series they made of the franchise and then asking you for opinions.
