So I’ve been trying to distract myself by getting back into hardcore football again. I’ve been a supporter of Manchester United since 2005. I’m talking back when Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Giggs, Vidić etc were all a team. The OG ManU squad. Back when Sir Alex Ferguson was managing. Back when a good MatchAttax trade was the highlight of my school day. Back to when Sunderland was acc in the Premier League. Back to when I knew all the names of the league players j by team & tranfer. All by just watching them play. Thinking about it now, to have witnessed both Ronaldo & Rooney in their prime years is a blessing. To have watched these players grow before the Ronaldo hype is luck. I’m so glad I got to experience proper football. Even to this day; to be able to outsmart boys who have only recently jumped on the football bandwagon, with my prior knowledge is a little ego boost. I love being able to shut them up xD
I made my FPL team maybe 3 weeks back. And ever since then I’ve been watching every single game back to back. Whether it’s a Leeds match or a Burnley match ive been upto date. I know I chose to get back into this as a distraction, and whilst some match days don’t serve their purpose; I’m glad I’m atleast trying to distract myself. I have something small to look forward to every week this way.
However I didn’t think about the feelings that would come with watching football. It is j plain irritating to watch my team lose. The recent Spurs loss of 6-1 was horrendous. I’ve never been so disappointed watching a match. I can’t even wear my jersey out till we pick up in form.
- It’s times like this where I wished I didn’t transfer both Kane & Son from my FPL. Not to mention Van Dijk did an awful job as a defender against Aston Villa. A 7 -2 loss Liverpool??? Goes to show j how important of a keeper Allison was. Sigh. I’ve dropped in my league because of these two transfers. /: I’m hoping to take a -12 & revamp the team & get ahead for the next game week from the 17th of October. Dropping from 1st to 2nd shouldn’t irritate me this much but I’ve kept it in for 3 days.. & thinking about the awful game week is driving me mad, hopefully this little vent will make me feel better. At the end of the day the FPL is a game of gamble. I know I should calm tf down idk why it’s still on my mind..
