Ten days ago,

I fantasized about suicide

For the first time

In a long time–

It’s become unclear to me

What exactly I am supposed to be doing

With this gift God gave me,

Because it seems

That the one thing I’m great at

Just isn’t good enough

And that frightens me–

Not only because it’s all I have,

But because it’s all I want–

Or at least I thought so,

Until I contemplated the thought of losing you

In lieu of it,

And now

I’m not so sure what’s important

Anymore.

Who is your greatest mentor or the person that you've learned the most from?

I have been fortunate to have had two people in my life that I learned a great deal from.

My Great Grandmama ‘Nita and my godfather Augusto showed me what it was to be a good person and even though they both have passed on the advice I got from them and the lessons I learned from them are still a major part of my life.

Tell me the best lie you ever told to someone.

Ha! Good question!

Ummmmmm... I would have to say that the best lie I ever told was to my dad and my brothers and I had gotten arrested for fighting downtown and I told him that they were trying to protect me from a group of guys when in actually we were all shitfaced, these guys stared talkin’ shit, and the four of us picked a body and stared swinging.

To this day my dad thinks that my brothers are heroes and not drunken degenerates, lol!
