In this AU people who have unnatural death turn into ghosts. Their souls exist in intangible and almost invisible for anyone form that copies their original appearance. Also ghosts save some signs of death for a while, e. g. wounds, scars, separated parts of the body and lose them over time. They have all the memories and they save their identities.
There are four soul species.
(Scoobie, Trots, Rennick and Caz)
Yellow soul - usual ghost who was dead or killed by mutated human. It has no abnormal signs of death. Yellow souls were relatively good, decent people. They are free to move and go anywhere they want.
Blue soul - ghost of mutated human. The worst end for souls: they are prisoners of mutation because their deformed bodies are still alive so they can’t leave them until the whole death. They have abnormal signs of death: tendrils, warts, strange pots, etc. Blue souls stay in strong delusion: they’re walking around mumbling in fear and pain and they don’t understand they’re dead. Fortunately they can fight this state of mind and return consciousness.
Ghosts are attached to the body and can’t go too far from it. This connection helps to control monster a little bit. As example mutants sometimes repeat souls speech and behaviour, and souls can make them to do something or to say something.
Black and gray souls - usual or mutated dead people. Their limbs are covered by something like ash. Such ghosts were bad people which mistakes or strong sins weren’t redeemed. They don’t lose their signs of death over time.
Red souls - people who killed themselves or sacrificed themselves. I consider these kinds of death as a breach of the High Order (rules of existence). These ghost always have a special mark- red star. It don’t disappear over time. They don’t lose their signs of death too.
In Siren’s rest we would see the main danger for souls: water trap. After the Beira’s explosion all the ghosts fell into the ocean.
Water is the specific substance what keep souls inside itself for a long time. They can’t get out of it themselves and are able to stay there forever.
I showed you one of the the scenes in the sunken rig earlier. ;)
This AU will develop soon, and your asks may help me and motivate me to go further.❤️
Two questions for you ghosts/souls au. Are Rennick and Caz on good terms considering both are dead? Also what ghost type would Finlay and Brodie be?
Thanks for your questions!
Unfortunately, no.
Caz locked himself in his room. He doesn’t talk to anyone. He doesn’t want to see the others, especially Rennick. Honestly, he doesn’t want anything.
Rennick still grumbles at him, he’s not really worried about it: no Caz - no problems. Probably… He wouldn’t admit.
They should be red ghosts. Finlay became red because she went insane after Brodie’s death and tried to burn Beira by herself. Even if she was buried under the fallen crane we need to consider she was ready to die. It doesn’t matter what kind of death she has.
And Brodie… He seems to be red, this man knew he didn’t survive. However no one has seen him after death. He’s missing. Brodie’s destiny can be worse than just to be the usual ghost.
Your dead Caz AU is sick as hell. Wanted to ask tho for clarification cause I may have misunderstood the post you made about it. Is Caz like- experiencing the shape in the afterlife? Is he seein everything that goes on in the main game. So like, Trots is over here trying to do laundry and things're just randomly getting kicked around. Meanwhile Caz is just experiencing the horrors?
Absolurely right!
Look, in my AU you can see 'the other side' of original game. Always compare: what Caz sees and does and what others see and do.
Afterlife: obviously, the game plot. Caz tries to survive and see another people as still alive, dead bodies or just monsters. For him Shape is real.
Real life: unchanged situation for the Beira. The rig is unbroken, everyone is still alive, except Caz and Gregor. Shape doesn't exist. HOWEVER, oil rig workers see strange things (not also random kicking objects) and realize that there's a ghost.
Real characters cannot influence on Caz, but Caz acts in real life as the ghost.
IT MEANS that we have two Caz versions: the soul (in afterlife) and the ghost (in real life). They are not the same. True Caz doesn't realize his death. He's living only in Afterlife. Ghost! Caz is just his shadow, it has his feelings, not memories. It is the negative energy after death. Well, just like the REMNANT from Fnaf. That's why it can hurt people.
Oooh, and you mention the moment with Trots. You predicted my future AU scene. I don't want to make any spoilers. But you're very close.)
