An introverted artist working in vintage art restoration, Jon Sims gets way more than he bargained for when he moves into a converted church to find it already occupied by the feisty ghost of one Gerry Keay. Despite a rocky introduction, the pair finds themselves bonding over art, stained glass windows, tragic childhoods and mutual cat parenthood. Before long, Jon finds himself with very complicated feelings, and a hopefulness that he can’t quite explain.

TMA au where everyone who works in the Archives is bound to the Institute after death too (though this could actually take place in canon I think!). Nobody can see them, and only Jonah is even aware of them.

• Jon in S1: *rants about Gertrude’s lack of organization*

Ghost!Eric: *is choking with laughter*

Ghost!Gertrude (amused in spite of herself): I am right here, you know.

• Not!Sasha: *talks to Jon*

Ghost!Sasha: JON, THAT ISN’T ME!!!

Not!Sasha: *leaves*

Ghost!Sasha: *waves her hands in front of Jon’s face, to no avail*

Michael: That is a real name.

• Ghost!Tim and Ghost!Sasha having a really sweet/tearful reunion (well, as much as ghosts can cry)

• Ghost!Michael getting a chance to confront Ghost!Gertrude

• Ghost!Gerry just being overwhelmed with relief and gratitude when Jon releases him from the skin book

• Jon: Finds Eric’s recorded statement

Name's Gerard Keay. Gerry if you're my friend. I used to work with Gertrude Robinson, hunting Leitners. I won't get into the details of why we split up, but we did. Now I hang around wherever, just wandering.

It is just as silent for Micheal as it was for Gabriel. But it feels...more somber, somehow. As if the air is thick with regret and self-hatred. Do the dead even have a self to hate?

...it feels almost as if he's trying to apologize. But that can't be. He's gone now.

And it's all Micheal's fault, isn't it? If he'd never run into Gerry again, maybe the man would still be alive now.
