So I’ve been keeping up with Ghost in Shell and some fics inspired by it- and I keep having the same scenario play out in my head.
So I’ve already read some fics where when the brothers meet again they tease Ghost for his supposed promiscuity with Yoshi and or Draxum; I think it’s amazing. Yet, I wanna take it a step farther in the crack direction.
So, Ghost and his brothers have already had their while emotional meeting with some unresolved tensions but overall it’s a pretty happy reunion- they get over the whole Yoshi thing because Ghost’s kids explain it early on and they never really touch back on that teasing. Yet, not even a week later Draxum shows up on Ghost’s metaphorical doorstep to talk.
Draxum asked his fellow colleagues how to properly apologize to Ghost or “the one who cares for his exp-children.” and become a bigger part of their life. He will apologize to Splinter eventually but right now they are too bitter to each other to even consider it- so Ghost it is. Draxum’s fellow lunch ladies take it as a divorce situation and help Draxum try and woo his ex-wife without the mad scientist even realizing it.
So- fast forward with Draxum showing up with flowers (in my mind- very specifically an all allium bouquet) and a reservation for a nature reserve in the hidden city for them and the kids if Ghost allows it. Of course Ghost’s brothers’s taking this at face value and are completely gobsmacked by the simultaneous facts their nerdy brother has game and is divorced. Now they need to investigate Ghost’s suitor.
I envision Ghost being genuinely touched by the gift and committing with Draxum a bit more despite not fully trusting him. Although, as Draxum tries to make up with his son (especially Leon) he begins to grow a soft spot for the guy. Additionally, Draxum ranting to his brother’s about Ghost’s “incredible fighting prowess” and “perfect strategist mind” while embarrassing is flattering.
I really wanna see how far this crack idea could go if it was a fic. Also I’m writing this at 11 pm so if you see any spelling mistakes, no you don’t.
An allium btw. I love these flowers so much.
