i've been playing with the idea of tim befriending jaybin's ghost (not long after tim becomes robin) and jay helps tim in being a vigilante; from getting tim info he would otherwise be unable to get (by jay listening in on criminal meet ups and relaying what he hears) to being a shoulder to cry on when the weight of the robin mantle is too much, because only a previous robin would fully understand. they become inseparable, and tim appears even more genius than he already is (dick probably has theories about tim somehow having some sort of superpower).
all is well until tim starts chasing leads on the infamous red hood, a fast rising crime lord who always manages to slip away from batman and robin.
tim asks jaybin to help, as he always does, but jay refuses, telling tim that he should stop looking. obviously, this is because jay knows who red hood is (aka the resurrected version of him) and he doesn't want either party to get hurt.
naturally, this pushes tim to work even harder to work out what red hood's deal is, while jaybin does everything in his power to stop the truth from coming out, otherwise tim (the only person who can actually see him) will view him differently and not want to be friends anymore.
meanwhile, bruce and dick are just having a bad time hallucinating their own versions of jaybin while the real jay is unable to get through to them.
