Hi hello. A looooong time ago you said you’re writing a Scorbus fic set in mexico and you had a name for the schools and a name for the muggles there. What do they call muggles there?? I’ve been curious. 👀
Tocayos.
I have a new story called Ghost Pines. No plot or themes or motifs or words. Just a title. And Albus and Scorpius, obviously.

things you said that i wasn’t meant to hear
Dipper had a funny habit.
Well, he had a lot of funny habits, honestly, but the way he started to babble when he got nervous was one of her favorites. It was just so funny to watch a boy who prided himself on knowing so many big words stumbling over his sentences with his face all lit up like a stoplight.
Which was exactly why Dani’s favorite hobby was getting her friend as flustered as she could.
It actually wasn’t that hard, surprisingly enough. Even though he faced down monsters and demons on a regular basis, Dipper would start blushing over something as simple as her standing too close to him. And even though SHE had a wide array of powers at her disposal, Dani never felt more confident or strong then when she was grinning up at the beet red boy and saw the panic in his eyes.
“Come on, Double-Dip.” Dani laughed, slinging an arm over her friend’s shoulders (they’d gotten broader lately. When had THAT happened?) “What’s the harm in a few little pranks, huh?”
“It’s not- That’s- We don’t need-!” Dipper sputtered before taking a deep breath and stepped away from Dani so her arm fell back to her side. “Dani, breaking and entering is illegal.”
“So’s grave robbing.” Dani shot back.
“There were extenuating circumstances!”
“Yeah well extenuate these circumstances too then.” Dani retorted.
“Do you even know what that word means?” Dipper asked, sounding bemused.
“Don’t have to, smart alec. Now are you coming with me to steal some test animals or what?” Dani asked, grinning as Dipper groaned loudly.
“I’m doing this under protest. You know that, right? And If we get in trouble with the FBI or GIW again, it’s on YOUR head, not mine.”
“Yeah yeah, we both know you love me, DorkDip.” Dani laughed, giving Dipper a playful shove before heading to the door-
“More than you know...”
-only to stumble over a box when that sentence was mumbled under Dipper’s breath.
Wait, what?
“What was that?” Dani asked, twisting around to give Dipper a wide eyed stare.
“What? D-did you hear something? Because I didn’t say anything!” Dipper squeaked. “Anyways, we should probably get going now. Stakeout Snacks aren’t gonna buy themselves, after all, and I need to talk to Mabel about getting around the security system and lots of planning to do so I’ll just see you later. Tonight. For, you know, criminal activities.” And with that, Dipper fled- really, there was no other word for it- past Dani and out of the room, leaving the half ghost blinking in his wake.
...She had probably just heard him wrong.
Right?

“Things You Said That I Wish You Hadn’t”
Dipper couldn’t remember the last time he’d been this angry. Or scared. He was trying to focus more on the anger, though. Hold it close and let it burn so the icy terror that had gripped his heart would fade. It was easier to deal with that emotion, after all.
“Did you completely lose your mind or something?” Dipper snapped at the bedbound girl, giving her the fiercest scowl he could manage when a part of him was still fighting the urge to hug her. “Do you have any idea how close you got to dying? Seriously Danielle, what were you thinking?!”
“Don’t call me Danielle, Dip. You know I hate that.” Dani griped weakly, frowning at the brunet.
“Well you wanna know what I hate?” Dipper demanded. “Having to carry one of my best friends’ limp, nearly dead body through the Oregon woods and waiting up five hours while my great uncle performs an incredibly risky, experimental, and likely illegal operation on her so she doesn’t die.”
“Technically speaking, I’m always nearly dead.” Dani pointed out.
“This isn’t a joke, Dani!” Dipper exploded. “You nearly died! And for what? If you had just waited ten more minutes for me and Mabel to get there-!”
“I had the situation under control!” Dani snapped.
“Oh really?! Could’ve fooled me!” Dipper retorted. “What, you think that because you have cool powers, you don’t need us to help you fight off a freaking War God?!”
“You saw what that thing did to me, Dipper! Imagine if it had been you! Or Mabel!” Dani shouted back.
“So you do! You think we’re not as capable as you because we’re just human!” Dipper accused, anger swelling. It was a fear he’d been biting back for a while now, the feeling of being inferior to the half ghost. Dani had amazing powers, and she was tough and smart and cute. What was he, compared to her? Just some dumb kid who liked to pretend that he knew what he was talking about, but really didn’t have a clue. “You really think we’re that much of a burden for you, that you couldn’t wait for us to-!”
“I COULDN’T RISK LOSING YOU!” Dani roared, tears streaming from her eyes as she glared at the shell shocked boy next to her bed. “I couldn’t take the chance that I wasn’t going to be good enough again, and wind up getting you and Mabel killed because I’m just a massive screw up who can’t do anything right! And I don’t need you rubbing that in my face now too, okay?!”
And just like that, all the anger and jealousy and the urge to fight left Dipper, leaving him feeling small and guilty.
“Dani…” Dipper said, swallowing hard as he tried to find the words to reassure his friend.
“Get out of here, Dipper. I’m tired, and I want to sleep.” The half ghost said shortly, turning in her bed so that her back was to him. The action stung like a slap to the face, and Dipper found himself meekly complying.
He was still reeling as he rested heavily against the closed door to Dani’s room, though. Part of him wanted to take back what he said, reclaim the reckless accusation he’d flung at Dani because he was angry and scared and wanted to hurt her because she had hurt him by nearly getting herself killed. Another part couldn’t believe the words Dani had hurled back. It wasn’t that he thought Dani didn’t appreciate him and his twin, but he’d never realized how highly she thought of them, or how little regard she had for herself.
Blandly, Dipper couldn’t help but wonder who it was who convinced Dani that she was ‘just a massive screw up.’ But the question did little to distract him from the realization that Dani thought that he saw her that way.
Killing the rest of that bottle of wine was a splendid idea. Sleepy time will be awesome ☺️
At work, I checked out a Ghost Pines red wine, I am VERY CONCERNED NOW
