#Ghostbusters 101 #1 (2017) Subscription Cover B Cover, #ErikBurnham Story, #DanSchoening Pencils 'Let's Do The Space-Warp Again! 'Before they began investigating the supernatural, most of the original Ghostbusters were teachers... and they've decided it's time they start sharing their knowledge again. But when their first batch of students start poking around the firehouse and accidentally set in motion the merging of two universes (it's easier than you'd think) Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore, and Spengler will need all the help they can get to put things right! And who do you think will Answer The Call? (If you guessed Holtzmann, Yates, Tolan, and Gilbert... you get a gold star!) It's a brand new inter-dimensional meeting of the minds, starting here! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087WL3XCN
I had the most remarkable weekend, you guys!! A friend of mine owns a comic shop where Paul Feig buys his comics (The Perky Nerd) and they’ve become really close over the last couple years. Paul had written the forward for the new Ghostbusters 101 comic trade issue so she asked him to come in and do a discussion panel about Ghostbusters (and his other movies). Robin Shelby, who was the voice of Slimer in GB2, and Mrs. Slimer in GB ATC, was there too. I wanted to get a photo with her but she had to rush out to attend a wedding. Paul and Tiffany talked for about an hour, at one point he brought up the GB ATC art book that @eevachu tweeted at him about and Tiffany (the owner/ and moderator of the panel) pointed at me in the crowd and said “Oh, they posted about wanting to be a part of that the other day” (or something similar) and Paul looked up at me and waved, and I waved back, and he said “Let’s talk!” and then I died. He talked about his first movie, Spy, how he came to cast all the Ghostbusters ladies, and what projects he’d like to do next, and then after the panel he answered everyone’s questions. Paul was so funny and gracious, I could have listened to him for hours more. He brought the actual Ghost Trap from the movie AND Holtzmann’s actual neutrino wand from her pack to show us!! He said the whole pack is mounted on the wall of his office at home so he could only bring this piece, but he let us take pictures with them and it was amazing! As per usual I got a little overwhelmed in the moment and didn’t think to get better close up photos of the trap (it’s my favorite prop and I would love to have one) but luckily Tiffany at The Perky Nerd did. A representative from the Hollywood Ghostbusters gave him a certificate and a couple patches making him an Honorary Ghostbuster in both the Hollywood and Las Vegas chapters, which I think is really cool. Afterwards they let everyone come up and take photos with the props and meet Paul. He was so lovely, he took private time with everyone and it was so awesome. When I got up there we complimented each other on our outfits (he said he dug my style- im screaming - I said “how could I *not* dress up to meet you?”) and he commented on my lapel pin, then he showed me the lapel pin he was wearing, which was a small silver “no ghosts” sign with inset diamonds. He said a friend had made it for him to wear to the Ghostbusters premiere but said he hasn’t had a chance to wear it since. I told him I’d wear it every day if I were him. ;) When he asked who to make my autograph out to I asked if he could make it out to Fun Kelly, and he he knew who I was! “You... you’re Fun Kelly? From Twitter?? It’s an honor to meet you! I feel like I know you already.” Then, I died a second time. I guess it really pays to tweet about Ghostbusters all day. XD. Eevachu designed a mug for him (pictured with Paul above) and asked me to bring it to him. He was so sweet, and so touched, (lots of wow!’s) he made sure to say that Laurie (his wife) was going to absolutely love it. The one word that I can apply to Paul that describes him in person and personality is “warm.” I hope everyone gets a chance to meet him one day because he is just as wonderful, if not more so, than anyone could imagine. They say never meet your heroes as they may fall short of your expectations, but that person obviously never met Paul Feig. They did an audio recording of the panel and questions so when that’s up I’ll link to it so everyone can hear. <3
me: I can’t come into work HR: Why? me: I need to draw this, immediately
