Kidding aside, you can tell a lot of thought went into this book. They don’t just give you recipes, you get to read fun little ‘interviews’ as Podcast talks to the OG’s, and there’s other tidbits too. Includes recipes inspired by both the 1984 movie and Afterlife.

I went on vacation to north myrtle beach and it sucked but I came home to Ghostbusters goodness so I’m happy again. The keep reading part is just me rambling about my vacation because I can.

I finally got my hands on the Matty 12′’ Winston and I was super happy when opening him. He came with his mailer box and was never open! It came with a little advert for the 2009 DS game and on the back was an ad for another DVD release. My Egon and Ray are re-owned so I didn’t know this little piece of paper existed. I will have my hands on the Peter figure one day damnit, one day.

I like silly vintage Ghostbusters stuff so I got the Haunted House Activity book [Sadly of course, no Winston] and the GB2 Poster book from the same seller, I know there’s scans of these online but I don’t care. The Haunted House activity book has writing in the inside and outside cover and one page is completed but the none of the drawings are colored in and all of them are super cursed, I love them all. I will probably scan and print all of them on mixed media paper and color the hell out of them. This is one of the oldest item I have in my Ghostbusters collection since it was released in the movie was. 

The GB2 book is fun and has two of my favorite GB2 images and the picture they used for Harold’s bio is funny, like why is he so smug looking and for what?  I will never actually use the book has a poster because I already have one but it’s a neat item and I love it as well.

I finally got the 2016 6′’ Egon figure, he’s like $50 on Amazon and I was like noooo that’s dumb, so I went on eBay, found an auction that no one else was bidding and only paid $28, for him, yeah the box is beat up but my Ray and Peter’s boxes are beat up as well  so I don’t really mind, It gives them personality. Winston is the last busters I have to get and the set will be finished. 

I got Funko Soda Peter too, he’s neat. I hope they make and released Ray and Winston soon like came on Funko, do it. It would be nice to see the Afterlife team in this style too.

To end of this post raving about GB merch, here’s a picture I took on vacation of my Ray and Egon plush and my Playmobil Egon because I’m an adult but having them made sleeping on the floor easier. No, I’m not joking. 

I watched GB1 on the way going to the resort on my laptop and it was such a vibe, I didn’t watch GB2 because I watched it recently and I watched Afterlife on the way back on home and man I had a blast. Watching DVDs on the road is nostalgic to me personally. 

The place I and my parents was staying is called bluegreenvactions and the room is weird and a little gross. The resort had like a odd feeling to it. I felt like I was the only young adult there, the majority was older adults and I saw some younger kids walking around too. 

The suite room’s bed shook when you get on them like a waterbed. You make one move and the whole bed shakes. It was already small as hell and the mattress is too soft because my bed at home is firm because I have lordosis but damn, I’m not trying to bust my ass so I used the covers from both of the beds and slept on the floor the whole time we was there. I was watching a Arthur marathon to the point I heard the theme song over 50 times and in my dreams.

The station was playing the same commercials over and over on the station, I got tired seeing some exercise with smart cat commercials man. The spare room also has windows going out into the hallway so I had the curtains closed the whole time because that’s creepy and weird as hell so I had no natural light. 

The room’s oven didn’t go pass 10 minutes when you’re trying to bake something so I had to watch the time so I could make sure the food wasn’t undercook or leave it in too long that it gets burnt. My fish and chips came out fine though. 

The spare bathroom had a washer and dryer and the sliding door was super gross, the top track was caked with dirt like it wasn’t clean since the place opened. 

The only positives I will give is, they have a indoor pool, they have an activity center where the employees host games and events [some were free and some you have to pay for me], my parents and I went to their Nascar watch party on Thursday [02/17] because free food is free food and we didn’t want to make dinner because we was checking out Friday. 

I sadly got nothing Ghostbusters related when I was there, only GB thing I saw a big ugly PKE meter that was just plastic at a G00dwill [GW sucks, I hate the prices and another one we sent too was selling a used candle, and a retail GW was selling a broken container. Go to your local thrifts if you have any, don’t go to GW or Salvati0n Army. 

I got some clothes from discount stores but my best find was getting 3 packs of Towbow Alcohol-based markers for $5 each at a Flea market of all places when those markers cost around $20 each. So we paid $15 instead of $60. I don’t care for the Towbow but it was a sweet deal.

The area had some pretty buildings because it’s a beach town, didn’t went inside of any of them but there were nice to look at but there was so many golf courses, mini and regular on both sides on the road like over kill much. One day I wish I was able to go to the House of Blues but it was closed and was going to open until March and there was a Hollywood wax museum but my parents said it cost a lot of money to get inside. 

One funny thing that kept happening was people commenting on my knitted rainbow hat I got from a cloth drive, saying that they like it for three days straight. 

To end my long ass post, if you ever going to north myrtle beach, don’t go to bluegreenvactions. Go to a different resort or just go to resort that is in the actual myrtle beach instead. Hell, you will probably have I better seeing Bill Murray in the wild than I did.

Okay so at the bookstore where I work there’s a new Ghostbusters children’s book that treats the original movie as if it was a story for little kids, including all the characters being kids in a school club and has all the best lines from the movie AND JANINE JOINS THE CLUB AND GETS TO BE A GHOSTBUSTER TOO this is the cutest and best thing in the world you should buy it

Did you see the new Ghostbusters Afterlife toys from the New York Toy Fair? What did you think of them?

I did! Hasbro certainly had a lot to show off today!

Man, if I try to cover everything, this post will take forever to read through. I’ll try to just hit the biggest things.

For the adult collectors they have a new Plasma Series of six figures: the four Ghostbusters, Dana Barrett, and Gozer. They’re going to retail for $20 each. Like Hasbro tends to do a lot with their adult-aimed series, each of the six figures will come with a piece of a seventh character (a terror dog!) and you have to collect all six figures to assemble the seventh.

Obviously you can tell the designs are based on the original movie, not the Afterlife movie. It’s cool that we get some new characters that never got to be action figures before, but it looks like each Ghostbuster gets a unique accessory and Winston’s is the proton stream. So, even if you buy all four guys, only one of them can shoot their pack at a time. That’s a bit annoying. Still, wow they do look good! (Pics from HasbroPulse.com)

Hasbro is also releasing a set that look just like the original toys that were released for The Real Ghostbusters cartoon! I’ve seen this as a trend that has been popping up lately for long-living franchises. Toy companies will recreate and re-release vintage toys exactly (or close to exactly) as they looked when they were originally released. Even down to box art sometimes. This is cool for people who want the retro look who never had them as a kid, but for me personally, it’s not my thing. I tend to just hunt through ebay for vintage toys rather than buy new versions of them. (Pic from BleedingCool.com)

Then for the toys aimed more at kids, we have a bunch of ghosts, and they all come with slime, of course! (-insert me groaning here-) Don’t get me wrong, slime makes perfect sense when it comes to Ghostbusters toys, but I am SO SICK OF IT. I’m a person who studies the trends of children’s toys as part of my job, and slime is just… it’s just everywhere right now. In every toy aisle. The girls toys will have rainbow slime called unicorn poop or something. Boys toys will have a monster inside an egg and it’s covered in slime and you have to dig it out of the goop to play with the toy. I mean, seriously. If you go into a toy aisle today, it’s like 80% of all toys come with slime of some sort.

Anyway, enough of me ranting about slime. Like I said, it makes total sense for Ghostbusters toys to come with slime. And we have all the classic ghosts available, like Stay Puft, Slimer, terror dogs and… Muncher. Muncher seems like a new guy, eh? I don’t remember him from the cartoons or comics, anyway. Maybe he’s a new ghost that we’ll see in the movie. He’s like a bug, he’s kinda cute! (Pic from Movieweb.com)

And of course we have role-play proton packs for kids! These things are so cute! Of course the standard pack, trap, and PKE meter. And then in the upper left there we have something called a Ghost Whistle. That is just adorable. I have a feeling that will be something the kid characters invent themselves in the movie, something they add to the Ghostbusters legacy of inventions. Or maybe they just find it and use it, we’ll see. (Pic from BleedingCool.com)

There’s more ghosts and another line of action figures of the original team, but these things here are what stood out for me.

I thought it was a bit odd that, for the most part, all we’ve seen are characters and ghosts that we already know. There’s no toys of the guys as they’re going to look in the new movie and none of new characters or ghosts (except maybe Muncher?).

But I did read an online article that confirmed there will be later waves of toys that will have the new Afterlife characters and/or ghosts. Those aren’t being shown to us now, which makes sense because I think the studio is working very hard to keep a lot of the movie under wraps. Above all else, the trailers that have been released so far impress on me that they’re being very picky about what they reveal and when.

So if you want cute stuff, they got ya covered! If you want awesome stuff, they have that too but it’s a little bit annoying. All in all, there will be a LOT of Ghostbusters merch floating around soon!

I work at a store that has a huge aisle of Funko Pops and we have all four GB's, I just can't bring myself to spend the $44 to get them. But I do stop by and say hi to the guys every time I walk down that aisle because I'm a giant ass dork.
