Love when my friends participate in these, I get to be nosy!
📥 What is your fave fic to receive comments/messages on?
🌙 What time of day do you prefer to write? Why?
🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?
Arctic hiiiii!!! omg please be nosy about me @ghostlykiss 💖
📥 I love to receive comments on all my fics, but I especially love to get them for rodeo au (love can be fun / (bring back) that lovin’ feelin’) because it was my first fic idea and I just hope I’m conveying all the feelings I have always loved to feel when reading fics (warmth, yearning) and people are rooting for them! They are so dear to me!!
🌙 honestly if I can I try to write on the train as I find editing on my phone easier sometimes. But otherwise, I do like to write at night before I go to bed!
🧠 an idea I can’t call a wip yet… omg I have had so many ideas lately and some only have like 100 words written down after a stray thought but I haven’t picked them up yet… there’s a little small regency au thing and medically discharged Jake who is building a house….
But the one I really can’t call a wip yet is inspired by the painting nighthawks by edward hopper and like, how he supposedly “forgot to paint a door”. But there was a post about how you built your walls up so high you forgot to put a door to let people through and it made me think of the painting and like, a kind of inception/time loop vibe where every single night Jake, Bradley, Nat and Mav (maybe Javy?) are at the same diner, spinning tales and wasting time and complaining about their jobs, Bradley is always going on about how he wants to get out into the world and make something of himself, but he never does and Jake’s goal is to get him to want to leave, not to avoid conflict but for himself, and that’s the only way they can get out of there (but no one is really aware that they are trapped in the time loop, for all they know they come there every night like routine).
Still thinking 20s/30s small town America setting, Very It’s a Wonderful Life, maybe a bit of the heart is a lonely hunter. I am very fond of it but idk if I could pull it off haha but it’s on the back burner for now.
Oh turns out I wrote a few drips and drabs in my notes:
Bradshaw was a real by-the-books kinda guy. Some would call him sensible - Jake would call him boring. And yet, night after night, he finds himself here, in the same seat a little ways down the bar, listening to him drone on.
“Say, did’ya catch the ball game the other night?”
“Can’t say that I did.” Jake drawls, flipping the toothpick he held between his teeth.
Mwah! Thanks for the ask! 💖
