Arin had his sawed off shotgun at the ready. He had been hunting this sea creature for days and the lack of results was beginning to wear on him. The locals had begun calling it a Kraken, though he knew better than to think it was quite that strong. It was probably something much lower on the food chain. There had been a couple deaths though, so that was enough to cause him to jump into action. He had noticed that, based on reports from those who lived in the city nearest to the attacks, that it mostly came out at night. "Of fucking course." He had thought at the time. Now the moon was shining bright overhead and he was easing his way to the edge of the water. He heard a twig snap and immediately pivoted. The jerking motion caused his boot to become lodged in the thick mud. "Of fucking course." He thought for the second time. He had never heard of a sea monster who walked on semi-dry land before so he figured it was either a person, or another type of monster. Either way, there was a strong possibility that he was about to be attacked. It was time for him to try and bullshit his way out of this. One of his specialties. "Hey!" He yelled out to the darkness. "Whoever-whatever you are, I've got my sights right on you. One move and you're dead." He bluffed.
