I'm going to try and preface this as best I can without giving anything away.
I've started a sanvers fic, which mainly was to help me cope with the breakup, but ended up spiraling into a whole fucking series. the first two parts are kinda vague (which was what I was aiming for) then the third part, which is a direct follow up to parts 1 and 2, basically explains a good chunk of what happened. but, I’m not going to just post 1, 2, and 3 because there was still a ton of missing things. which is why there are 2 sets of inserts for the ficlets, one from Maggie’s pov and another in Alex’s pov, following them through their lives between ficlet 1 to ficlet 2, basically because theres a 9 year gap altogether between 1 and 2 and then 3 takes place the day after 2 does so... but anyway. and a few of the inserts are going to be posted before part 3 actually. I felt like because 3 really just ties everything together, you need that built up, right? it will hold all the answers, but I like to make everyone suffer just a tiny bit first.
the series is called Ghosts of Us. part 1 is called Past, 2 is Present and 3 is Future. Maggie’s missing pieces are called “Letters to Alex” and Alex’s missing inserts are called “the in between” (I call them “limbo” to myself but like actually speaking, its called “the in between”). 1, 2, and 3 are all one chapter. the others will be considered multichap but can be read as stand-alones. and everything will be posted through ao3 to keep track of the series, but I will update everyone here and share links :)
I have a bunch of things planned out and already written some for this series. it’s very heavy. very emotional. I did end up having to note about trigger warnings I wrote about. and I know that some things in the fic may be sensitive or tough topics, but I definitely tried my best with them. I did my research and took precautions in some aspects. but this story could not have come to light without the use of some heavy topics that entailed. so, even with the high emotions running, it’s probably one of my most favorite things I've written so far. It picks up literally after ep. 305 and is interpreted from my thoughts on out. its a long journey for this fic, but I really love it. and also, so I have a few pieces for “letters to Alex” and “the in between” planned out, but the best part is, is that it’s going to be quite interactive. I will be taking prompts if they're sent in regarding those two inserts. I won't be taking prompts for each inserts until 1, 2 and one of the letters I have written already are posted. that way y’all can kinda see what direction I'm heading in for the series.
this honestly came as a surprise. I had just opened the doc and started writing and then this idea for a series spiraled out of no where and took over completely. it has angst, fluff, drama, and tons of emotional turmoil, and I could even be persuaded into smut, possibly, at some point.
with that being said. I really hope you guys like it. I'm hoping to post part 1 soon! (just have to finish proofing it)
and I hope we can all remember to keep sanvers in our hearts forever because they have been a big part of my life, even if it was so short on-screen.
