Another old image.
She’s pissed about something, we just don’t know what. What’s wrong, Ryuu-chan?
Yes, it's another one of those ridiculous Manga-esque funny images I decided to do, this time with Daijinryuu. And it even comes equipped with Japanese! Well, basically the best Japanese I can put forth, which probably isn't that great, so excuse the bad grammar. I'm trying. Hopefully, I'll get better with my Japanese class next semester.
If you want to know what is said: "Ryuu-chan, I love you very much."
Why? Someone here called one of my Daijinryuu images Ryuu-chan and I thought it was cute, so I made fun of it. And who is that proclaiming his love? Um...it's a chibi version of Skull from Power Rangers... O_o I think I'm going into my weird month.
If you ask why, I won't answer. Please don't ask why.
So, I've got my new equipment to be able to draw again. Thanks to all who donated.
To give it a good workout, I decided to do a very quick rough of Neltharion...more rather...Pre-Cataclysm Deathwing.
And you’ll notice something different.
For one.
For one, Deathwing never had that giant boat anchor people love to joke about bolted to his lower mandible. He also didn't have as many pieces of plates bolted to his body as he did when he arose during the Cataclysm. Mostly, Deathwing only had armor bolted to his backside.
Yes, in War of the Ancients, it was described that he had all manner of splits on his body.
However, pre-dating those books, books like Christie Golden's Through the Dark Portal pretty much depicted Deathwing with only some armor, mostly on his back.
And I noticed this as well...the most recent image of Deathwing from...blech, the Chronicles.
Notice what Deathwing is lacking in that image. Is it his armor? Why does he look like he's lacking his armor? It's because of the position of the camera. As in, you can't see his armor because his armor is on his back only. And his body is obscuring it. As in, prior to the Cataclysm, Deathwing has NEVER had armor on his front side. So, I drew basically a front version and a back version, so you can see what I mean. As you can see the armor is obscured when you look at him from the front, but when you look at him from the back, it isn't. Which explained in Golden's book why some were a little shocked to see the armor on his back when he revealed his true form...because they were riding on his back and didn't see the armor beforehand.
I pretty much imagined him like that too prior to Cataclysm, as I even stated in Romancing the Coffer that the reason why Deathwing had that chin brace was because during Day of the Dragon, Ysera punched Deathwing so hard...it broke his jaw. So, he had to repair it with that brace, which fitted over his jaw, rather than being his jaw.
And yes, note the lack of a beard. During the 10 thousand years, and of course before the Cataclysm, Deathwing didn't have any hair on his chin. He always burned it off.
But Neltharion grew his beard back during Tectonic Divergence, because that is the look he had prior to Deathwing.
The floor is Neltharion’s beard

Back, back to the saurian ooze from whence it sprung! (Eternal thanks to Ursula K. Le Guin and “The Language of the Night.”)
It’s good to do Squiddy again.
Telek ‘Heros, the Supreme Commander of kicking Covenant, Flood, and even Reaper ass.
And to up his badassery, he now wears a cape.
