My dearest sorella,

My apologies for having left you in bed by yourself this morning. It breaks my heart that I was unable to join you for breakfast. You know how much I enjoy seeing your smile after that first sip of coffee, and especially the way your lips taste with a touch of sugar and cream.

I'm afraid that my return to your embrace will be even further postponed than I would like. The old hag, Imp has me assisting the Cardinale today. Something about some last minute preparations for his tour. I have half a mind to tell him that since his mother seems to be so concerned with everyone else helping, maybe he isn't as ready as she thinks he is.

Anyway bellissima, enough about them. I have missed you so much already today and it's not even noon. I had no idea just how much one day of being in your absence would make me so restless. I look forward to seeing you tonight.

Will you meet me under the tree in the Grand Hall? Wearing that—a little number that I got for you? You know the one—violet with the slit up the side? I know you think it's too much, but I promise you that it's just right.

I also have something very special that I'm dying to give you. And don't try and guess…I know how you are about surprises.

You are my world amore and there is nothing I would love more than to spend Christmas with you wrapped in my arms.
