So far the mission goes well. We have been tasked with discovering the mysteries of this island and its most peculiar natives. Sure I have seen my fair share of creatures in this galaxy —- from mindless drones bent on blood to sophisticated creatures possessing vast intellect —- but all of them share something in common.
They go done when you shoot them.
But these things… shooting them just makes them more angry.
On top of the natives, we also have a smuggler; one whose family has a history with the 501st. And by history, I mean we may have killed his brothers once or twice our maybe even three times. He made some deal with some of the other people on the island, but he made no deal with me. So when an agent if the Republic asked for information about him, I handed over what I knew happily.
I look forward to stepping over this man’s body in the future.
That agent… She is a rather troublesome individual. While we were awaiting the arrival of our mercenary contact, all she wanted to do was throw grenades at the indestructible native pair known as the Anchor and the Buoy; mostly because that is what they cat with them at all times. She kept reaching for my belt, cooking a couple off and dropping them down below. Every explosion was followed by a eerie shriek or a vengeful roar.
And then her joyful laugh…
Our mercenary contact sent us out to search for vials of dime unknown chemical; he wouldn’t tell us what was in them —- “need to know” and what have you —- just that we had to retrieve them. Simple enough. Fairly quick mission, though we did lose Bob and a fellow soldier he had grown fond of… always regrettable. Nonetheless we returned the vials to our mercenary contact and away we went. Back to some “hotel” which is a bit better than the barracks we are used to.
Our friend, Nigel Thornberry III, requested our presence, and for such a gentlemanly fellow we were more than willing to oblige. He told us a tale of voodoo and witch doctors: I am not sure if I can believe such rabble, but when a man gives me an objective, I accomplish it. A journey across the entire north stretch of the island took us well into native holdings, and in the depths of the night we met a man covered in blood and a bit crazy; shouting “Zimbabwe como esta” and “I am the night”as he lept through the forest. He presented us —- a group of assorted civilans and the 501st —- with three trials which we easily accomplished, only to find our way to the Main Line to join in the Honey Badgers’ search for “The Treasure of One Piece”.
They searched for hours… for a box filed with copper… utterly useless on this island…
. After all was said and done, we have made it to safety and found a moment’s rest in the shadows of the pier. I am not sure how long I’ll be able to access this node… The creatures are a bit “relentless”in their pursuit and we are not exactly strong in numbers…
Sully is trying to keep a node open, and with any luck he well succeed by sunrise.
Until then…
